eFX ANH DARTH HELMET SAMPLE!!

congrats to those who got theirs and they arrived undamaged but for those of us who have been waiting patiently for our replacements to no avail. Customer service is non existent no replies and promised dates of shipping from asia that never come to fruition.
Alot of us paid alot of money to be treated in such a poor manner. Again congrats to those who got their helmets and undamaged. Glad they have our money for over a year and yet we have nothing but damaged helmets and no real honest dates to get them replaced. Nice

So, is the helmet you are selling damaged? It doesn't state that in the sale....

Just askin'

:)

Last I heard from Bryan, the replacement 'facemasks' are on the way. The shipment of domes has been delayed.

Anyone not in the US got to ask for a replacement dome? I do have a rub mark on my dome - from the first batch - and I was wondering what the procedure was? I'm in Montreal, Canada btw.

can anyone do size compairisson shots with a TM? Sorry if I missed it.

I was quite looking forward to seeing discussions between the different casts and the EFX, but there's nothing. I love my EFX and was interested to see how it compares to other high end casts. A bit disappointing really.

Cheers,

Kraig

Nice! Are both in one shipment Thomas? Does it say 2 packages or 2 tracking numbers?

Yes, I received two tracking numbers, and they arrived as one shipment of two boxes, Legend #013 and Legend #192. At last.

Whew! Now the process of checking for any problems with them. :unsure

Yes, I'm the same way as far as enjoying comparing, just for fun, but I've stayed away from that kind of thing here for obvious reasons.

#13~~!! :facepalm You're such a lucky dog! Enjoy! I don't think you'd have any issues with them. Mine came in with no QC issues that I can identify. It did have the black felt covering the dome and the face. So, yours may be from the same batch!

For those who are seeking replacements, I heard/saw on another thread that Bryan has sent out responses and rough ETA on replacements. So hang in there guys!

:thumbsup

Unfortunately, both my helmets have the same paint flaw in the same area. :cry

It would seem that, as pictured, the felt as a square doesn't cover the entire rear right side of the helmet. There is also on one of them a slanted vertical band of marking on the dome, strange. Looks like I'm joining the dome replacement club. :confused I've emailed Bryan on what to do next.

Apart from that, the packaging of this product is really first class. I have yet to really examine in detail the castings but as far as a licensed collectible it certainly is the nicest I've ever seen.

really sorry for you and every member who had this kind of problem.

I don't understand why EFX didn't use 2 soft bags like the Master Replicas ROTS vader helmet.

The felt used by EFX is too small and it seems to be too thin, I hope they will understand they have to improve the packaging of everythng in contact with the facemask and dome.

Hey Thomas, It's not something you can wipe off/buff out lightly? I'm glad that you're getting a replacement :thumbsup and thanks to Bryan for his responses. Poor guy must be overwhelmed.

Actually, I think the company itself is overwhelmed. They're kind of behind with the Avengers stuff from what I see on another thread and the date for Avengers 2 has been slated. Here's to them catching up! :)

I think the only problem with buffing it out is you lose that finish and turn it more glossy. I wouldn't buff it out either.

I think the only way you could fix it is by overspraying with dullcote or something using an airbrush. Might work but not for the faint of heart.

Anyway, why should anyone have to fix it when you pay that kind of money it should be perfect already.

Really think that the inherent problem lyes within the paint itself, and not the packaging. Problem is getting a dull sheen and still have a durable finish resistant to shipping vibrations and the abrasive nature of anything other than an air barrier such as what the manufacture tried to do is nothing short of a magic trick.

Fact is, anything touching the surface for a length of time runs the risk of damaging the surface in some way. I have shipped things painted with both lacquer and enamel finishes packed in cotton batting in hot weather and had the cotton stick to a very curred surface.

I personally feel the only way around this problem is to somehow lock the dome down for transportation so that it touches nothing but atmosphere.
