Not really my place to tell RS how to run their forum. Their forum, their rules & censorship.
I have no interest in a forum where people aren't free to post the truth (in a respectful manner).
Certainly no need to waste more space on this Vader Helmet thread.

Just wanted to say hi to JCoffman99. He made a really good point about measuring dimensions of your own stand. He also had given me some good eFx TIE background.

I realized that all the deleting & locking of posts critical of eFx was probably because of eFx advertising $ to RS. I was immediately banned for mentioning it!

Anyway back on Vader helmet, I would really prefer the helmets to come with the smaller round base instead of this huge one. The bases should have been optional, to be able to choose which version you like.

BTW long ago members on RS asked eFX if they will make extra bases for sale (even without SW logo on them) and the answer was positive. And still nothing yet...

Your ANH Darth Vader Helmet(s) - Legend Edition (Order No.: XXXXXX) will be shipping shortly. Please find attached our Credit Card Authorization/Lay-away Agreement for you to complete and return to us at your earliest convenience. We are sending the agreement to you now to give you ample time to get it back to us. Note that your card will not be charged until the helmets are in stock and ready to ship.

A couple quick things to note:

1. You MUST return this form to us in order for us to process your order.

2. Pre-Orders are NOT transferable.

3. Shipping will be by FedEx ONLY. As some of you know, we tried the US Postal service Priority Mail for the Luke helmets and the Luke Reveal, but we got too many complaints from our customers about many issues. The main issues were: it took too long to be delivered (in some cases more than a month!) or NEVER delivered, packages arrived damaged (probably because in many countries, the package is passed on to a third party service) and the biggest issue that customers had was there was no real time tracking, so you never knew where your box was. Then from our standpoint, when the product is lost, it is almost impossible to collect on the insurance that we purchased. This causes significant problems for us since we make limited edition product and most of items are sold out, so we do not have any “extras.” Also, the cost of items are very expensive when they lose the package. So, we apologize in advance for the shipping costs, but we have to use a reliable shipping service, and unfortunately, we have no control over the cost FedEx charges.

I got the email too! No USPS shipping is really bad news for me! I never had a problem with them in 20 years in Spain, but I guess other countries carriers are not as good. I will have to check prices with them, if FEd Ex to Spain is too expensive I'm thinking on sending my Vader to a relative living in the US.

Romania: $690. I got my own quote from FedEx US and FedEx Romania and both said $710 and $725. Add to that all the taxes and customs charges (where they will tax the $700 shipping quote too, thus a tax on a tax), VAT 24% and you have a hell of an expensive helmet. Thanks a lot FedEx, hope you got belly up soon!

I know, though, that companies with big accounts get better prices from Fed Ex, that are usually half the public price.

Anyway, the ANH Vader Legend is going to be incredibly expensive to buy second hand in Europe. For the regular edition, I have a seller in Spain that quoted me only €750 shipped.

In Spain FedEX works with SEUR. I think SEUR (as well as UPS) has a private customs service which will stop the item 99.9% sure and quote you the IVA.
