That’s a fair point. Hmm… like the spice, the information must continue to flow, then. Ha!
Those Nikes look like good subs! Out of curiosity, what does the tread pattern look like? In an act of possible futility I've been Googling everything I can think of to find that same tread pattern as the screen-used shoes to start with as a base.Joining this thread for updates, my sister had a pair of Nike with a slightly similar sole in black which could be a good alternative for the shoes if covered in the correct fabric
What we did was create a bodysuit out of five or six layers of what we called a “micro sandwich” of fabric. It’s not unlike some of fabric that Under Armour uses to wick water away from the body when football players wear it under their football padding. We selected a beautiful Japanese fabric that would wick water from the body and then it would kind of cool the body when the moisture hit the air of Jordan, through a mesh system of cotton, nylon and acrylic.
Definitely, I hear you! I asked my sister for some more photos. Those Nikes look like good subs! Out of curiosity, what does the tread pattern look like? That looks very similar to the fabric I found as well.I got a sample of some cloth that looked like it was very similar to some types being discussed here. The "inside" of the cloth (if there is such a thing) is a nylon weave, and it has a plastic-y coating on the other side, making it waterproof.
Not sure how I feel about it.

The last picture is quite color accurate.
This style of shoe is called furoshiki. It bears some resemblance in style to the top of the shoe. Going down this avenue may yield better results for the base than looking for a more traditional western shoe styleI have looked at too many shoes.
Can you explain exactly which parts you mean when you say a cotton gauze/cheesecloth? I'm not sure I'm following. It seems like that it is a nylon canvas type material making up the "chaps" on the legs and arms, and that is over what looks like a double layer of cotton gauze or cheesecloth type material that is covering the chest area and is at the elbow joints. That is all over/built on a skin tight moisture wicking spandex material. Some areas do also appear to have acrylic mesh over the cotton.
