I am getting to finishing up the heads but I can't find a suitable button like I thought,
I will probably machine a plastic button and an aluminum shield to glue in that will look close to the real thing,
On the wrap I have a sample of adhesive vinyl that they wrap cars with, it is slightly textured,
I am looking to cut the logo in like stencil letters, after you apply it you have to use an exacto knife to remove the little attachment pieces.

I just want to thank everybody for your patience, I'm sorry it's taking so long.
But I really needed that operation my hips feel much better!
I should be ready to ship at the end of the month, progress will still be posted as I go.

I am starting the finishing operation on the heads tomorrow, drill all the holes and cut the knurl,
I just ordered a small plotter/cutter to test doing the logo wraps it will be here in a couple of days,
If it works out I will offer the wraps, they might be able to be used as a cutting stencil if you want to do the real wrinkle paint,
I will post a download link for the logo DXF file as soon as I can get my web site sorted out with the issues I have.

With the consistent posts and progress photos, I would not have known you were on any down time if you hadn't posted it.
I found some vinyl to use for the wrap, it is not a textured as the real wrinkle paint but there isn't any vinyl like that,
everyone who ordered already will get one and all orders by 2/6/15 will get one, after that the price of the kit will be $185.
Also I know I said I would be done by the end of the month but I need another week so I should be done by the 6th.
If you do wrinkle paint you can use the wrap as a template, as I said before I will try to upload the DXF file for the logo soon.

The wrap will come like this in the kit:
Then after you put it on just use an exacto knife to remove the cutouts and finish cutting out the logo:
I am leaving a little extra material around the edges so you don't have to worry about placing it exactly, just trim the extra off,
this vinyl can be peeled off and replaced until you are happy, I think there is a method of making it stick more permanently but I have not looked into that.

Well, I just got my ANH DL44 using your cast kit back from being built by scottjua, so I decided I need one of these to go with it. Order placed.
And can I say that this run is amazing, not just the workmanship, but the fact that you had a double hip replacement and the run never suffered a hiccup. I wish all runs I've been involved in would go this smoothly.

printing out the instructions and boxing up kits, I have a Friday morning pickup scheduled,
some of the parts will have a cutting fluid residue on them so you will have to wash them in warm mild soapy water, rinse thoroughly and completely dry with compressed air,
those items will be listed in the instructions, also you will need: exacto knife, small flat head screwdriver, metric hex (allen) wrenches, light bristle brush (toothbrush), glue for non porous surfaces (metal on metal, & plastic on metal), needle file, gloss black paint and other miscellaneous items,
parts are packaged in groups and fully accounted for, there are very small parts included so be careful opening the packages,

This is awesome. Thank you so much for the amazing work you've done on this run. Your last post is a great example of how much you care. I really appreciate your frequent updates and your dedication. I'm very excited to start working on this! I hope your recovery is going smoothly!
