+1 for ETA on magnoli! im waiting for that rather than buy the steady replica. plus steady will make us wait till may anyway maybe longer!

I can't really understand why, when Steady are still selling what seems to be a exact replica baring for the collar button and diamond stitching beneath the Scorpion, that other companies would go to the effort of attempting another replica.
I think the hardest details of the jacket, colour of the satin, expansion sections of the shoulders and most importantly the scorpion have all been nailed in the Steady replica.
It seems highly unlikely that any other replica will get as close.
The only way in which another replica might better the Steady version is in build and material quality.
It will be really interesting to see the Indy version which will likely be top notch fabric and workmanship but having seen the scorpion picks on the jacket earlier in this thread they do not seem as accurate as the Steady jacket.
The Italian company are listing the jacket as an authorised replica limited to a run of 100, priced at 150 Euros. They are also selling a drive glove for 40 Euros. They do not have any pics of their jacket on the site of any adverts I've seen. The site seems to suggest an expected delivery in 1-4 weeks.

I competely agree with you. But at the end of the day, we all appreciate accuracy and workmanship on this site.
Most people however, care about cost. That jacket is listed as a full £80 odd less than the steady replica and £16 postage. There are people who've paid £250 including postage for a steady replica to the UK.
Myself? i'm waiting for magnoli's version.
But 'average' people will buy this jacket once they see the price difference.

Magnoli has updated his embroidery, plus he's doing the diamond pattern over the scorpion. Plus, he will have the correct brown fabric. It is going to be WAY better than the Steady replica.
I emailed Steady about the brown fabric. Their site still features the false advertisement of "ribbed" knit material. Their excuse? It still has a "subtle" ribbed texture so it is "technically" correct. wtf?
I am going with Magnoli's because if people are concerned with the number of other people with replicas, only a handful will have the superior quality of Magnoli's.

Still waiting on the newest embroidery... no official ETA, but I've been told it should be done this week.
It does seem a shame that Steady did not go the extra mile and find a deeper ribbed material and I'm not sure why the added th collar stud.
Having never looked into props before I was not sure whether replicas were more of a fancy dress item than actual clothing quality.
I plan on wearing my jacket all summer and would not have ordered the Steady jacket if the reviews on quality were that it was poor.
I can see the logic in someone like Indy making a very high quality and accurate replica correcting the mistakes Steady made. But I can't quite see the point of another cheap version from Italy which is likely to have other minor or major faults. Until we see one we won't know, it could be perfect.

Great, i'm really counting on you but i would like to have custom black version with gold or grey scorpion
We'll be making one in black with a silver scorpion, so I'll have pics of those to share as well.
It uses Velcro on the collar, so it's not 100% true to the original. They should have posted an image of their version...

Well, I don't think anyone is going to buy the "Itialian" one which doesn't even feature a picture of their replica.
Magnoli has a great reputation here for replicating some pretty complex designs. The Joker costume is certainly more than meets the eye, and he nailed that one.
I know that he has a new vector for the scorpion so his will feature the quality and accuracy some of us more discerning folks are waiting for.

My steady replica finally arrived! I have to say despite being worried about how low the price was and reading some bad experiences with the jacket, I love it! The quality of the satin and scorpion is just fantastic (the fact they haven't stitched over the scorpion doesn't bother me too much). I ordered a small and was worried that I should have upgraded to a medium as I have a 38" chest but it actually fits like a dream and is quite warm to wear in the winter here in the UK. The satin is definitely an ivory colour and is light responsive just the screenused one.
My only gripe/annoyance about the jacket is probably the inaccurate hem and collar. The hem is made out of the same material as what you find on a hoodie and the collar is basically the same and feels a little weak when folded down. Other than that, for the price I cannot complain at all. I've been wearing the jacket out and about and you do get a lot of people doing double takes but no one laughing. I've even had a few compliments and people asking where I got it from!
So if anyone is hesitant about ordering and can't quite afford Indy's or are impatient, then I would say order the steady jacket. For the price you really can't go wrong.

I started to get a rip in the armpit area of the lining of my Steady jacket, which sucks. The scorpion was just starting to get all nice and worn too. Well I guess its off to the tailors. Now I'm really counting on Magnoli's jacket cause this is just disappointing quality.

I think this is as close as we can get. I'll do one final tweak to the colors for the production run, but I'm happy with the pattern.
