DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

First Run is done.

There's still some left in the second according to their page, not sure it's all sizes though...

Hurm. If that's true then its kind of poor practice not to acknowledge it some way or another. Even an asterisk with a note that said "Not final product" would have been nice.

I would have to agree with you on that one. They were working really quick to get this product out though, so I can understand the slip up if these aren't pic of one of the product jackets.

In the attached pic, I think it shows the stitching lines are visible through the scorpion. So, I dont know if that one is the screen used or what...If that jacket is the screen one, its hard to believe they would overlook that detail and just embroider the scorpion right on top like a decal or something. I guess we will just have to wait and see...

But you can clearly see the quilting is done before embroidering in this pic:

The image you put up could be the company comparing a screen used to their production line. That would be my guess.

Wow, those moved quickly. Glad I got my order in.

+1 just hope they ship them out in the true order they received payments. my order detail said nothing about first run, second run. i ordered from gogetretro

why gogetretro and steadyclothing.com show different charts for sizing. Size L in gogetretro says that chest is 49" while steadyclothing L chest is 47" wtf, arent they the same jackets? Whats the official chest measurement for size L ???

They are the same jackets.

hmm..your right...:unsure

Wait, what's the issue here? Isn't the scorpion embroidered on top of the jacket as well in the screen used (which is why the quilt pattern doesn't show through it). Perhaps the final product is just a bit more "colored in" than what we see on those assembly line pics. That can't be the last step of the process can it?

We don't think so. We're pretty sure quilting happened after the embroidery on the screen jacket. Heres a pic of what we believe is the screen jacket showing quilting over embroidery:

But who knows what either process looks like afterwards without knowing which is which...

I see it now. Thanks for the more detailed image as I really couldn't tell from the image on their site.

Now I don't know. I don't want it to get sold out (it most certainly will), but I don't want to open the mail in a few months to find an inferior-looking product either.

Can anyone who's been speaking with someone associated with the site perhaps get an image of a finished product? I'm this close to pulling the trigger but I'm hoping they got it right. The quilting is definitely over the scorpion and that assembly line pic isn't looking too good.

I think the heart of the issue here is that the embroidery on the screen used jackets was made to look "cheap", for lack of a better word, which would have the same look and feel as the souvenir style jackets that the Drive jacket was based on.

Here is a close up of a screen used jacket where you can see the embroidery is so thin, that when the quilt pattern was added on top it actually pinched the embroidery, and you can see the fabric of the jacket underneath.

It looks as though the embroidery on the steady jacket is being done thick, heavy, and on top of the quilted pattern. As such it will surely last longer and look "nicer", but it also distances itself from an accuracy standpoint of the real Drive jackets.

I'm really torn. I'd like to pre-order this jacket, but I hate ordering without knowing what the final product will look like. But by the time they release an image of the final jacket design it will probably be completely sold out :unsure

**edit: Urban terror beat me to the punch.

If I had to guess, they do not have a finished product yet, or at the very least did not have one in hand when they started doing pre-orders. They were probably so anxious to pounce on this opportunity while the hype was hot they kind of jumped the gun.

Another not so great business practice. :unsure

Yup, no worries. Glad to see I'm not the only one. I'm in the same boat as well. Hadn't checked this site in a minute and I hadn't received any email alerts that new posts had been made so I raced over to see if there were any new developments, refreshed the Steady page to find it sold out...and upon coming back to see what everyone was talking about, I find some not so good news.

The scorpion, as it looks in that assembly line image, is too clean.

Steady sold out of the First Run Jackets, I just checked their page and they're still selling Second Run Jackets though. Just look at the buying page of the jacket, down to the right is a list of products, one of them will be "Scorpion Jacket 2nd Run"

Hope this helps your onslaught of bad news!

^ No, I saw the second run. I guess I just mean't that I saw that the first run was sold out and figured that it might've coincided with some new images of the jackets, some new sizing info, etc. that reassured everybody that it was legit. That's why I raced over here to see what people were talking about.

But yeah, I've got a jacket in the cart right now on the site (that probably isn't tantamount to reserving one but I don't know if I want to pre-order just yet).

they do not have a finished product yet??
What make you think that?

Someone already talked with Eric from Stedy and he said that he already tried size M and L which means they have finished product.

When it comes to the scorpion, I think, what i see from the pics, I prefer stitches going over scorpion. It seems that they should embroid scorpion first and then on top of that make diamonds patterns.

What do you guys think? I hope this jacket wont look cheap.

is that jacket in front of her a final Stedy finished product? I don't think its jacket from the movie they got, just look at size of it comparing the girl and a guy(Eric) standing next to it. This jacket is so small. It must be S or XS? What do you think?
