DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

I just compared to my Top Gun jacket (which is small) and decided to go with X-SMALL since the small look kinda medium.

Yeah I'm going with the idea that you should order a size below what you normally buy. This isn't a custom order either. If it doesn't fit you can always exchange it, I'm sure.

Well, seeing as Gosling is 6'1, 177, i see him rocking a Small in their size...So thats what I ordered...

Also, just got this email from Katie

"We are doing 2 runs of the jacket, 500 each." So this is actually a limited jacket...not a mass produced copy that some of us were afraid that we would see.

I ordered mine directly from Steady.....Well, I guess now we just have to play the waiting game...

I'm 5'8-5'9, 140 and the small looks awfully large for my figure. Anyone else with similar height/weight going for the x-small?

I just measured myself again (was going by what my license said before), and I'm actually about 5'8''. I'm still probably getting the XS, seems like the best choice.

I'm 6' and weigh around 165 pounds with a 32 inch waist. All of my jackets in my closet are sized small. However their small one is really too big compared to mine.

I'm 6'2 185 and I think I'm gonna go with the XS as well. A 45" chest for a small is way too big.

This does not bode well. If I'm a 5'5" dude who's like 140, and 6'2 dudes are grabbing XSs, I'm gonna look like a little kid wearing his father's jacket around.

I think when they did the measuring they measured from one shoulder across the chest to the other shoulder.

If you measure yourself again you will see that the numbers will be closer to what they have on the chart for your chest. Im pretty sure thats what they did. People are saying small but I think thats not right, thats gonna be to small. Most of us are mediums.

Try it out and see what you are. My measurement was 48.

Yeah I decided to go with the x-small as well. Just pulled out the measuring tape and my chest is 38 LOL

they're not stupid, they're a clothing company I think they know how to properly measure the chest. who in their right mind would make a chest measurement from shoulder to shoulder?

i know someone would respond saying something like that. I know there not stupid but who has a 45,46, or even a 51 sized chest. Not even the fastest person would have that. You have to have a pretty big chest to have those measurements. My chest is 40 when I measured it. The x-small and small are too small for most of us. I know they're not dumb but everyone measures things differently when it comes to clothes.

Keep in mind their measurement chart are most likely off-the-jacket, so a 43" jacket chest would be 21.5" across. Personally, if I were making one of these myself, I would only add 1" to my off the body chest measurement. Any more and this is going to be a loose jacket.

I should have all the measurements from the stunt jacket tomorrow. I'll let you guys know what kind of size the original one was so you can get an idea about fit.

But, like most of you, I'm really surprised how large their sizing is.

Kind regards,
Magnoli

This is a reply i got from Katie at Steady Clothing:
"Most people would not want the jacket fitted on the chest. The measurements are of the jacket, not of the person wearing it."

What exactly does that mean? The measurements are of the jacket?
I have around a 38''-39'' chest, would the XS still be fine?
