DRIVE (2011) Scorpion Satin Jacket

Yep, but tight is the way to go with driving gloves. The soft leather will stretch to your hand. The tight look is where the cool is.

I agree. I got a pair of driving gloves recently as a present, and although they look really cool they just don't have the right fit! My hands look like Freddy Kreuger's.

I've been lurkin' this thread for a while now, and I thought I'll drop in to announce that my jacket just came in! I ordered for the 2nd ship date but since I changed from a M to a L, It lagged a bit for me compared to others..
I'm 5'10" about 160-165 lbs with a 40" chest. Size L doesn't seem too bad. Very comfortable and I'm sure I can layer clothing easily (a henley and a trucker jacket I bet..) without feeling like my blood isn't passing through ahaha
The jacket is really nice and the quality isn't too bad.
There are some fibers sticking out along the seam in between the satin and the zipper though, but it's not that bad.
I also bought gloves from ebay, but the knuckle holes differ in size than the gaspar version. I ordered a size 9 but the fingers felt loose and didn't reach all the way down..thus giving me a webbed hand feeling.
I've shrunk them down using hot water and waited for them to dry as I walked around the house with em but it seems like I need another go...:lol

I think when I get my Large back, I'm going to alter the collar tab so it looks better. Either the movie used brown and white Velcro or nothing at all as you can see from these pics:

The original jacket didn't have any Velcro or snap on button on the collar. My guess is Steady probably added the snap on button figuring since mass produced people would use it as a regular jacket and would use that feature.

Understandable. All I know is that dinky little snap was of no help on my jacket, it actually made the collar uncomfortable for me. Thats why I think some dark brown Velcro on one side and white on the other would work better, but that's just me.

Yeah, sorry to rag on it. It is just weird that they didn't get it 100% accurate. They had the original. I would totally buy it if there weren't such errors.

Obi Wan Magnoli you're our only hope
Yep, totally agree! I hope that he's found out the correct color for the Scorpion coz I remember he posted asking for help with it and nobody responded...Looking on his website and his replicas-particularly the Joker line-I have faith that he'll get the job done. On another note, has anyone ordered the shades that are in the movie? I'm on the waiting list for them so I suggest anyone who's interested go to the Selima Optique website and apply. The frames that are used in the movie are the Money 2 Auburn Tortoise. :)

I called and asked Steady why the button snap was added. I spoke to Rachel who was very nice and helpful. She said that the reason the button was added was because the original was also fastened at the collar, however they fastened it using double sided tape, which would definitely not be ok for the replica.

If it's worth anything, the crew jacket I have that features the same pattern/cut as the Drive jacket features a velcro closure on that collar tab.

If you check out the eight pics I posted on the previous page, you'll see pretty clearly that there is not.

Sorry, I tend to view these forums on my iphone and it doesn't always load every picture posted for some reason. I can understand why steady might add the snap collar as a fair few jackets do have them but it's not as they originally stated; a screen accurate replica. So I understand why a lot of people are annoyed that they did this.

But if they made it an exact duplicate of the screen used jacket then you would have received a jacket with cheap doublesided tape rather than a snap that is functional. I think it was a good effort on their part to put the snap since with the tape the jacket had the illusion of fastening in the movie.

That part is never fastened in the movie, so having nothing there would have been fine. Plus it sounds like people with the jacket don't like the snap.

Those are pictures with Denim jacket and without. You can see the gloves too:)

Thank you very much for the pictures. Looking pretty good! Those gloves are killer, too. I'll just wait for the medium size to arrive and try my luck. If it's too tight I'll just have to send it back and get a Large instead.

I am eager to see Magnoli's jacket, too. But how is he going to solve this issue? Include double sided tape with the delivery? Having nothing there wouldn't make his jacket a true 1:1 copy of the original, right?

Having nothing there would make it 1:1 accurate. Since nothing is present on the original jacket, and he never fastens it in the film, it would be the best solution.
