UPDATE:

FYI: I found an 'Oak Closet Pole' at Home Depot today that is 8' in length and half the price as the online wood stores.

The only problem is that it is 1 5/16" instead of the required 1 1/4", but you only have to sand it down 1/16" of an inch, which is only 1/32" on the diameter of a pole. So, it would definitely work with the kit and save you at least $25!

You'll find it in the 'closet organizer' section of Home Depot.
