DR Who-Sonic Design Competition (winners announced)

I may start polishing up my designs now, ready for it then:)

Next years prizes will change however the winners prize will remain the same, as this was my first competition on RPF I kept the prizes to what I’m currently can make or are making.

RPF did offer to add finically to the prize pool, but I went this one alone as I was not sure how it would work out. But it has been a huge success with orange_blend doing most, well all actually, of the competition administrating to over see and to keep it open and above board has made this what it is. However next year will involve a 4th place and the 2nd to 4th places will involve me purchasing items from other members from RPF, Or out side to add to the prizes.

Pleasure to be a part of it Rassilon. :)

The only thing that sucks about administering though is that I can't compete! :lol

Well I eagerly await the next competition, and this time I will pay attention so I don't miss out. quick question...do you think it would be okay if I posted my design on my own or would that disqualify me from the next competition?

If you plan on entering it I would save it for the contest. I think next year I'll suggest "previously unseen designs only" although I don't think any of the entries this year were prior works. Makes for a more even playing field I think.

That's not to stop anyone working on a design now, just don't make a thread in which feedback can be given. OR, post a thread with your design and design a new one for the contest next year. :)

I'm having so much trouble being patient while the votes are tallied! Good luck to everyone and I'm looking forward to seeing the winning design!

Yeah same here greatwazoo42, as I would like to know what will be the winning sonic to, as I may have to counsel my holidays in October to make a start on this, some do look to be very challenging to make. :facepalm

Depends on which become the top three! :lol Yeah. Once the voting is complete and the big reveals happen (inlcuding to us judges) we'll weigh in on what we liked about the winners even if it's just "I really liked this one."

Sweet. Just thought it'd be interesting to see what features caught y'alls eyes. :cool:thumbsup

I think we're all pretty eager to find out the winners! The beauty of this judging system is that there isn't a single decision. Each judge makes their choices independently and then all three are added up. If someone doesn't like the result there's no individual to blame!

I will only be posting the three winners. After that if the judges feel brave enough to explain their individual choices that's entirely up to them. :)

Well dang it I missed out...I guess that's what I get for not paying attention to the boards every day. Nice job everyone, these are all really impressive. Any idea when another competition like this will come around?

I missed the deadline too :facepalm I was going to submit what I wanted to make if I had the technology...Never mind...I made one a while ago and Nick apparently saw it at SDCC :) I really should ask him what he thinks

The submission by Force Commander is my clear favourite :cool :cool

Very cool. :)

Do me a favour though and edit your first post to add the pic there. When I'm compiling the entries I'll just be quoting people's entry posts so everything you'd like the judges to see should be there!

Good luck! :thumbsup

Sorry, forgot to check the posts. Sorry if it gave you any trouble.
Of and the other entries are so good, should have spent more time and effort on my design.
