That is so awesome! I went to a gallery in the area in hopes of snatching some pictures of the taxidermy replicas but they only had some of his paintings for sale.

As Ultraman mentioned, in the works making a few taxidermy creatures. The Sneetch currently.

As much as I enjoy your thread seeing those builds, I can't help but feel a bit sad. The idea of these whimsical, fantastic creatures being killed, innards removed and replaced with sawdust and formaldehyde, then slung on a plaque and mounted to the wall...it's slightly sad.:lol

It's almost up there for me with imagining Tom from Tom & Jerry getting his bones snapped and head smashed in by Spike (the bulldog), leading to all those comical moments seeing him wrapped up in casts.

Just try not to think about it, hehe. You know, all the antlers and horns and such that Theodore originally used were from animals that died of natural causes at the zoo his dad worked at. So you could imagine that they died of natural causes and were preserved.

I know a guy who owns a art gallery/castle in France who owns a few. Should have some photos of them on my old laptop, I'll try rooting them out next time im home.

I just got back late last night from a trip to the bahamas, so please forgive me for being late in responding, thank you for posting the video, I enjoy faux taxidermy very much. the Schlitzie and Ultraman i thank and appreciate the work that you two have done, thank you. when i was a boy my parents would take me to visit my dad's uncle who collected specimens for museums, and his home was a wonderland for a young boy, stuffed iguanas, birds, bats etc., i am glad that i was born in 1965 because i was able to see a much different America than the one i live in today, I think some of the changes have been for the good but some of the changes have not. i enjoy the truthfulness of the untruthful Dr. Suess
