Hello everyone. Thomas here again speaking to you from christmas day. Got some new stuff today which makes my pictures look a little more "professional" so i thought i'd share them on here. If you subscribe to me on Youtube (0135micky) You'll know i received the RR sonic a few days back. I also promised to put some images on here of the sonic and so without further ado, here they are. As you can see this is one damn fine sonic, and it will without doubt take pride and place in the centre of my Replica display shelf.
You can see it here in its partially opened position. The light (and sound if you chose that option) works in all lengths of the sonic. The sonic is built using over 80 components and is an exact replica of the sonic currently being used to film Doctor Who. As it has changed slightly over time since series 5.
You can see the exceptional detail put into the sonic here at the head, with the claws sitting tightly, and everything falling just nicely into place. the tip of the sonic (or emitter) is a resin mould held in with a grub screw. The sonic doesn't feature a red emitter as some have speculated due to the fact the LED is green. And a red emitter with a green LED would in fact make a purple sonic….
Here you can see the sonic in its fully closed position. Capaldi style. When i initially received this the copper gleamed nicely, now after a few days of handling is has developed a nice authentic looking patina, i love it.
Images from the front and back of the sonic here, the back whilst in closed position. And the front whilst extended. The sonic's emitter is a very nice bright green and looks fantastic whilst sonicing things.
In its extended position you are able to see the nice core that runs up the sonic, it is the same colour as the emitter although seems to be a bit thicker as no light needs to travel through. This looks great and is probably my favourite part of the sonic. (Hence why i always display it extended!)
Another image of the whole sonic extended, rotated this one so you can see it as if it's being pointed up or flicked or something like that...
You can see here how with the lights off the sonic's LED shines mighty bright.
And finally, closed and in hand. It sits very comfortably and has a real weight to it. Its great. And by far the best piece of Doctor Who merchandise i own.
