I dont have a 4k tv but I can definately see more detail on a 1080 screen. And watching Empire I noticed theyve done more work erasing matte lines and 'cut and paste' artifacts around the ships. Especially noticable in the Falcon/TIEs chase scene after escaping Hoth. They were blindingly obvious in the 2011 blu-rays but completely gone now.

D+ version looks just as crisp but with less saturation in the color correction. Most of the film grain has been smoothed away, and with it a small amount of finer detail. Barely enough to make an impact, though.

Are you sure? I just watched that scene expecting a change, it sounded the same to me as it always did. I compared it to a youtube clip of the same scene (I assume pulled from the 2011 blurays, didnt feel like pulling my disc out) and it didnt sound any different.
