Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

Very nice! I used to have the original from the 90's. I'm thinking about picking one of these up and the new "D" that just came out. Can you tell where you got yours?

I got it through Amazon. They had them at Walmart but most are sold out. I have the Diamond select ones as well which are a bit better. But they are all nice representations of the ship. They should all display nice together...

Here's another cool all metal Enterprise. I think before the Tomy this was the largest Diecast Enteprise ever made. So it took 32 years to get another larger scale all diecast Enteprise....

Very cool for what it is. It is a nice representation of the ship. Not much paint details but a cool bridge feature as well as shuttle. But I don't think this was supposed to be about 100% Accuracy. This was $400 back in the day I believe....

I have that one…based on FJ Booklet of Plans…Achernar

Same here:

—but the neck wasn’t put in far enough.
Two decades back, the artist who molded them posted at starship modeler..some resin bits from the mold as I recall.

I live in NYC so it’s afternoon now and nothing in my personal email so I’m assuming today is another no go. Oh well. Enterprises lost in the delta quadrant.

Back to work still waiting…

Ok so I emailed support last week, here is what i asked and their response.

ME:
"While I wait to receive the USS Enterprise diecast replica I ordered (Order #48). I’ve been seeing social media posts with Pictures and Videos from people in Australia showing theirs which they received 2 to 3 weeks ago. I was wondering how some people in Australia have been able to get one when it looks like Tomy hasn’t even started shipping yet?

The worst part of waiting is the not knowing, In an email it was mentioned that shipping would start on Oct 6th but there has been no further information released on shipping since then. If there are problems that are causing a delay it would be better to know then to be kept in the dark.

Looking forward to hearing from you and receiving my order.

Regards and Thank you,"

TOMY Response:

"Hi, the orders have been started and are being shipped. Your order is loaded and should leave here soon, you will receive and email once it leaves here and tracking.

Thanks, Jo"

Seems they are still being vague. My order number is under 50 so if they are shipping in the same order in which they were ordered I should be in the first batch or 2 going out. I'll update here if/when I get my shipping confirmation.

Based on 4Q sales, and assuming a average item price of $50 ( wholesale) and assuming orders are spread across all 4 North American facilities equally, this warehouse at full capacity should be able to pick and ship over 10,000 items a day. Maybe they aren't yet running a full staff, or they are busy dealing with contractual obligations and/or are already seeing and dealing with Christmas orders, and we are taking a back seat. Otherwise it simply doesn't make sense that they can't provide a revised date ( or explain the Australia orders). The order being "loaded" may simply indicate that the pick order is in.. or it might mean they are literally starting to load a truck. But another person indicated UPS would be the shipper, so they will notify you as soon as the label is created if you have a standing account with them.

It is also possible they aren't shipping them in order by order number , but I would expect we would see either new videos being posted from someone in NA or a posting here with in a day or two of units actually leaving the warehouse. Its a very low cost thing to do , and a good business practice, to simply send out an email explaining that the shipdate was missed, and we are sure we can beign shipping by Oct 31st or whatever. Or at least inform helpdesk staff f the expected date. They don't even need to give a reason ( though it would be nice) Its the total lack of communication on a new date that really makes me wonder what is really happening.

I also don't understand why there is no talk about this, that I can find, outside of this forum. Has anybody seen any news about this on other sites, forums, Facebook, etc...?

I can't find any other discussion of it.. and that has been true since the Crowdfund got started. I suspect this forum is attracting a number of people like a magnet because this is the only place it really is being discussed, and the thread comes with a number of long time RPF members who are very knowledgeable about what this model should look like. Everyone else who bought it is still waiting patiently or have completely forgotten they ordered it. It checks a box in their brains - coming Oct 6th or so, and it hasn't yet occurred to them to check because they have busy lives and other concerns. I sit at a desk all day mostly waiting for work to arrive in front of me.. so I have plenty of time to track such measures, and I am pretty damn excited to see the thing in person.

There’s similar discussion over on the FB Star Trek Prop Enthusiasts group. Nobody has received notice yet.
