Die Cast Lighted 1/350th TOS Enterprise (TOMY crowd funded)

I just tried some thin styrene sheet but it won't warp much under heat. I don't think what I have is the thinnest though. Maybe something thinner designed to conform to shapes. Privacy film may work if it will warp under heat. I don't want to cook the bridge, but a hair dryer isn't going to do much.
Your comment shot styrene got me thinking. What about a styrene hemisphere put overtop of the existing dome? You can use a clear dome, frost that with your preferred method without any risk to the model.

I'm not sure the right size, but something like this: Plastruct VHE-16 Elliptical Dome for TB-16 1/2 (5)

Looks close. Worth a shot will order. Would be great to have it easily removable to look at the bridge and pop it back on. Thanks for finding that, never knew they made those.

When I had the chance to buy a Master Replicas Millennium Falcon, I had the money but no space. I never considered what the price might do later. Then I also wished I bought not one but two. When I had the chance to get the DeAgostini MF, I jumped on it and bought two. Now, if I wanted to, I could sell the spare one for about...what it originally cost. In the case of the OS Enterprise, I really don't like the design at all. But I guess I wish I had bought one now. It's like you have to have a sixth sense for this stuff. Good luck. I guess at this point, it's good luck falling into a bucket of cash as opposed to good luck finding one at a price you could otherwise stomach.

Thanks Mike.

I seemed to have accumulated some smudges on the ship. I’m wondering if a damp microfiber cloth would be ok to wipe off those smudges? I love this ship!

After a long psychedelic journey through USPS the little domes arrived. Much hand sanding inside to help it match the hemisphere shape of the model, you have to sand it way down thin in the middle. And even then it still sort of rests on the center part but it gets down low enough I think good enough for this model that has other issues. Not going to kill myself seeking perfection. Sanding inside and frost spray on both sides. Raises the dome of course but not bad.

Sounds like USPS must have sent it all over the country and world.

For some reason from Georgia it had to go to New Jersey first before heading west. Each place it seemed to linger in multiple cities. So weird.
I had a package that was going to Canada went from Ohio to Texas, then back to Shreveport, then to Florida then back to Texas and finally to Canada .

I think it's a scam that courier companies have devised for you to pay more for shipping & handling.(n)(n) Why the marathon? It should be a race: fastest delivery with the shortest route...or am I dreaming in color?

All right, I can't abide it any longer.
I have to find a reversible way to frost over the clear bridge.

I actually just put some masking tape over it for a minute and I was like AHHHHHHHHH.

It just looks like they are all about to get sucked into space, to me it just looks like a huge hole in the ship.

The bow light bugs me too, but that I could see just putting a gray decal over, the bridge is curved.

What about Elmer’s glue, applied thinly?

Yeah the updates in the refit thread are pretty good! The first die cast samples from the factory look really nice and the black supports in the front look to be optional and removable

Yeah, I saw those. I have no idea why I did not notice this was the old TOS Enterprise Thread.:unsure:

My reversible bow light delete. Cut down some vinyl dot stickers for marking papers, Tamiya metal circle stencil using sharp exacto, Tamiya AS-18 gray with enough coats to block all light, some Testors dull coat, Pencil for the gridline. Good enuf!!!. The abominable spit in the face bow light is hidden! LOL
