Well done on finding yours, did you also get it from the chap in France? All I need to do now is pluck up the courage to cut it up!!!!!! Any volunteers?!?!?!

well i got my doll in the mail today. now i'm not much of a doll person so excuse me for not knowing much about them, but how do you pull the head off? do you just give it a good tug? lol

so just pull it really hard until it comes off? sorry about the questions, i just don't want to break it

EDIT: Nevermind. I just "yanked" it off! the thing that's inside the head would make it a great keychain! Any tips on how to remove the legs, too?

I grabbed it with a tight grip, her face in my the palm of my right hand. With my left hand I held her torso tightly and just pulled my hands apart slowly but hard. Her head just popped off.

Then I moved on to the doll.:lol

The legs, I just broke off like a wishbone. I did it slow because there is something in the pelvis that will damage the legs if you're not careful. After I broke the legs off there was some bit of plastic that rattled around inside the torso. I ended up ignoring it since I put the thing in a shadowbox and it's not going to be rattled about.

oh great, now i'm not going to want to snap the legs off. the rattling thing inside the torso, is that kinda like the rattling thing that's also in the head?

EDIT: have i broken the leg yet?

No. What I meant is some of the plastic tore a tiny bit on one leg but it's not noticeable. It's the hole where the hip joint goes into the leg. That hole tore a bit as I pulled the leg off the hip. It was only the tiniest bit and only I would notice. After I got the legs off I took a hobby knife and cut those white plastic things off and one bit dropped into the torso and was never seen again. It's what rattles around.

oh, thanks!

The vintage Auburn Barbie seems to have the same hair coloring however originally this doll has blue eyes but in the pictures posted in this thread seem to be brown. And, the hair is seems to be teased rather than leaving the original ringlets curly hair. Also, since the hand is bent holding a mirror it might be a bendable barbie body and just a different head. There's so many possiblities out there. I went on Ebay and searched using the key words barbie mirror and most of the mirrors I saw had a handle to fit over the barbie hand since most don't have hands that would be moldable to hold a single handled mirror.
