As mentioned in the title...

Has anyone determined which make/brand the doll from Dexter season 1 came from? (the one he finds in the fridge...and then makes the head into a key tag)

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Jason

If you mean that doll that the Ice Truck Killer leaves in Dexter's frig, I always assumed it was your typical Barbie doll from Mattel.

If it was...does anyone know which one?

I am assuming it is some obscure doll...possible scratch built head (ug)

I just cant see mattel giving clearance for their flagship product being used as the calling card for a serial killer...but stranger things have happened.

After looking at the first episode screener that I picked up from working at a call center for a major satellite service, I have decided to include screencaps of the doll to the best of my ability. By the way it looks, it looks like one of the older versions of the Barbie doll (like something from the 1960s), but since I'm not an expert of Barbie dolls, I've figured it'd be best to include two pictures of the doll.

Looks like I came to the right place

Thanks to all that have contributed so far.

There is one problem though, look at the hands. The right hand is holding that mirror. The doll posted doesn't appear to have that. You might try looking for a doll with a mirror.

Actually, Risu, it looks like the Ice Truck Killer may have actually bend the fingers on the hand holding the mirror so that it could hold the mirror.

The face looks like a match, but don't the eyes look a little different? Possibly just a little extra paint? The doll's hand that is not holding the mirror looks different as well. I know that some Barbies were made with the wrist bent like that.

The faces don't look the same to me.
The one from the show isn't smiling while the other is.

At least, that's how it looks to me.

I wish I could help out by posting another picture of the head, but the show of the head was the only one from the screener of the episode. I do know that in another episode of Season 1, Dexter carries it on a keychain (I don't remember the episode). If someone happens to have the Season 1 DVDs, they may be able to find a good shot of it.

I agree laffo. Although, they could have easily repainted pretty much any doll head. I dont think they would make a childrens toy with such a neutral facial expression.

My significant other, Abby and I have been following the show lately and we are about 1/2 way through season two.

She started looking into this all her own and I think she has a positive ID on the doll. We are ordering them and I'll let you know when they get here.

It's definitely NOT Barbie.

Also, she is ecstatic that she found something and can now contribute to the RPF. See why I am marrying her?

That's awesome. If they turn out to be the right ones, I may be interested in getting one from you.

Does the doll include the "home sweet home" outfit or do you think that outfit came from another doll?
