Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Foam and Fabric... I think the paint may help it hold together better but I would like to have the patience to do a real pep. Fiberglass and all. I do like the foam but I still couldnt sit down. I changed prior to the movie starting.

I will be trying your MK 7. It will hold up for a short period. I may do a gloss matte over it and see how that works.

Oh yeah I can see how the paint and plati-dip (sp?) stuff might hold it together better. You did such a great job on your Mk IV suit - I would love to see you do a suit using my Mark VII files. I will be going back and correcting some of the details now that we have better pictures and the movie is out. So you may want to wait till the new files are released.

Hello guys, first of all,I wanna say how much I admire the wonderful and incredible work you guys have made. Seeing all the amazing things you have created, I just couldn't stand it anymore hehe, so I'm starting my own armor, using the files Stealth has posted. I'll go next weekend to buy the materials and start the armor, and let you know how I'm doing it. This will be my first armor, and I'm so exited!! Greetings from Mexico

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Well finally got some pics back from the Avenger midnight release. Needless to say the costume was a hit and everyone thought the costume was amazing, except for me!

My two issues left are the upper arm and ab/cod piece. When I first looked at it, I didn't realized the lames weren't meant to jut out and instead be just verticle to attach to the abs. I'm going to fix this before next week as I plan to have a full photoshoot with the outfit then.

Robo, Stealth, Sharkman, Finhead, I cannot thank you enough for putting out these files, I never would have been able to create this outfit otherwise. In the past month my costuming skills have been cranked up massively and I have you all to thank for that.

PS: I do need to give an extra special thanks to my girlfriend in my last pic, for putting up with the constant workings of the costume, the mess, the rants, the test shots, and my general absence from the relationship as the costume was built. That won't happen again.

Yeah, sure it won't. j/k :lol:lol:lol

Nice suit man, you did a good job... twist those biceps, tuck in the abs, and get a dark red undersuit and you will be looking real good.

I am so sorry, I meant to add you on the list of thanks.

The abs are no longer an issue. as I have now completely glued them to the cod piece.

Sadly enough as I've been replacing my old piece for new ones I keep running into issues because of it. The chest piece does not fit over the abs anymore. I'm not a large man, I have like a 34 inch waist, yet somehow when I built the new back it has become too tight to fit over the abs. I'll have to make an extender or something....

But I'm also redoing the upper arms so it no longer looks like a freakin turtle shell and repainting some stuff. Hopefully I can get this done before next week as I hope to have a photoshoot done by a friend when I go up to Orlando.
meh costume + great light + great photographer = awesome costume

Needless to say this has been a lot of trial and error, just like for everyone else. But its good, I've learned quite a bit in the past few months, and wouldn't mind tackling a few new projects now because of it.

Re: Robo3687 - IRON MAN Mark 4/6 Pepakura FOAM Templates -Easy to Build "Green" Versi

Hi everyone. I am from Brazil and I want say that are amanzing this Iron man armour.

And I would like know if anyone know a link where explain how edit a pepakura file to make it for foam, because I have the clonetrooper armour and I want make it for foam, but have many pieces and many polys and I dont know how do for make for turn the model with the same definition of iron man foam files, that have low pieces, and great parts of pieces are togheter and I want make this with clone trooper armour, because are two attemps on these files, make it for foam and build for hallowen and the main reason for me at this moment is more easily:lol.

If you can help I will be very greatful. And other simple question, how scale this Iron man files for my own size. I have 182 cm of tall. :confused
