my fabric covered foam iron man suit. Yeah I been real busy with training and competition so I finally finished it. I also will send stealth a video on my method since i hate to paint and use fabric.

maybe i'm stupid, but where does the "brace" go... I can't seem to figure it out LOL. thanks <3

Hopefully this helps mate!!! my brace is the yellow foam I havent glued it...

Im using 10mm was using 12 mm but it was to thick pics of mine are banging about if you wanna see the results!!

I'd like to thank everyone for their input from this forum, even though I just kinda lurked in the background. I finally finished my Iron Man suit last week, taking it to the Avengers premier tonight. The attached pic is the final result, (it is all foam, including the helmet). Again, thanks to Robo and Steath for creating the files. I definately would not have got through this without this site. (2 months, start to finish).

p.s. already had some wear and tear due to a halfway to halloween party this past weekend.

I finally finished mine, but its very stiff. I got a nickname from my friends "Iron vegetable"

It was very hard for me to sit down, I couldn't reach my face to take my helmet off.

Could my problem be that I didn't scale it right? Has any had a problem sitting with their suits on and reaching their your faces?

This method is ok but I need to find a way to get something more sturdy. I did the movie and went to an elementary school today and I am worn out.

Great work. What thickness foam if you don't mind me asking?

Thank! Still needs to be clear coated. The whole thing is 1/4" eva foam, including the finger pieces, though I didn't follow the pep files fro those; just made up something. I would have liked to use thinner foam for the fingers, but couldn't find any in my area.

Your suit looks good man. When you said "this method is ok" are you talking about using the foam or the fabric instead of paint?

Foam and Fabric... I think the paint may help it hold together better but I would like to have the patience to do a real pep. Fiberglass and all. I do like the foam but I still couldnt sit down. I changed prior to the movie starting.

I will be trying your MK 7. It will hold up for a short period. I may do a gloss matte over it and see how that works.

Hi there, new to foam and am really interested in making this.

I'm in the UK but am failing to find suitable materials, any suggestions?
Also how much would i need to create an entire suit?
I am 6 foot 5, 38 inch chest, 34 inch leg, 28 inch waist and size 10 shoe.

Any pics of what you have so far ? It would be easier to give you advices if we can see what you think is wrong
