Definitive christoipher Reeve Superman bust 1:1

I DO think that this is overall as good as it gets, and I was involved in a whole mishmash of Reeve sculpts years ago. The only real critique, is that upclose the skin texture does look like you tapped the clay with a ball sylus, got tired of it after a while, and said "good enough".. it really takes a long time to get a believable skin texture. there are directional pores, pores that gradually changes size, etc.. You need layers and layers of subtle texture. uber time it takes. BUT hey. this piece IS overall about the best I've seen. it looks natural, and everything just looks on.
I went through so much time on it, you couln't pay me enough money to do another one.

Hello Doody, Thank you for the nice word and a good constructive criticism of the skin texture, I will keep it in mind when I make the deluxe version of this bust, is the second bust I ever did in my life and I keep improving my skills on modeling. I think for standard version looks really good will be much more realistic and perfect next time, with better skin silicone material and, textures, real hair etc.

HOLY SH***T!! Rip Reeves..i'm glad someone like you did him. It looks really amazing!! Just bought the collection of smallville cause he was in it for a while :)
 
yes, I think that this is def. the best Reeve done to date. I really do. There may be some with real hair, blah blah blah, but I think that the overall is what's key. In this facial pose I can't picture how it could be better.

Thank you so much ! I hope, if I have success with this version, is to make a deluxe version with silicone skin and real Hair.

Am I right in saying though that this is the same bust I saw on ebay with the description that the sculpt was taken from a lifecast and clay poured ?
If thats correct then it really wont get any more accurate to reeves :) and you did a great job sculpting the eyes and especially the hair work, thats very clean sculpting

Like doody said the skin texture really is the only thing that could have done with a little more work especially as you have the same skin detail on the neck area so really look forward to seeing a deluxe edition from you and again well done this is outstanding for your second peice of work ;)

Thank you so much for the kinds words, yes is the same bust that you see on E bay. Yes I know than the Skyn can be better, but this is only a standar edition. As for all that are waithing for a deluxe edition, be careful about that :unsure, because that may be perhaps the reason of we can`t make a deluxe one, the best thing that people can do is give us their support on this edition, that will give us the possibility of more and better projects in the near future.
