Re: Simplified, cheaper DEC ANH Hero Blaster Kit parts (posted with permission fr...
Still working on mine. Made a lot of progress over the last couple of days but I'll tell you this is a lot of work to get it to look just right. My setup is going to be as close as possible to the original "movie" blaster. I have been studying pictures on where to scuff, shine, scratch, weather etc., etc. That's what takes the most time but the end result I think will be a close replica. Even studying which way the notches face in the glass eye/scope rings, where the scratches are on the scope bar and so on blah, blah, blah.
I think the next time consuming portion will be the mods of the sounds for the different banks on the Plecter Labs Blaster Core, Yup, it's going to have sound. (A shout out to Scottjua for his tips, thanks brother). Here's a couple of random pics:
75% of mods complete ( Sight slider has been reversed (*not shown), removed "butt sight" from slider and blackened, filed lower portion of the hammer so it will hit a bit more flush on the "firing pin", Aluminum Black, Super Blue, Jax, and paints used where appropriate. This is an older pic so some things have been updated for accuracy:

Removal of material to accept 2 watt speaker, slot made instead of sound holes which will be well hidden, channel made to improve/increase sound:

Made my own .973" sticker for mystery disc and blued around it, removal of Denix logo:

Modified wood grips to hold speaker and direct sound, removed bulk of the trigger to make it more accurate to an actual Broomhandle trigger:

Made and applied template and used aluminum Black to simulate on the charging handle: (That was a pain)

Just my little update.
