Question for those who paint the heads. Im thinking of going this rout next(just getting tired of fabric) and had a question. What are you using as a filler for gap between the globe and the lip?

He started using the cheese head after he fried the LED one. I seen him twice this tour in NYC. The first show I was dead center front row, and the 2nd I watched from elite VIP. And now going to see him newyears unhooked in NYC again and i agree with you. Excision is amazing, but nothing can come even close to Joel's visual presentation.

Cool to see some new mau5heads here. I didn't end up using mine last Halloween, so this year I am.

I'll be making a female version for the gf. With exams and other priorities, looks like it's going to have to come together in 2 days or so.

I can't even imagine carrying around a 16" head. The ones I have made are 14" and they are huge.

Hey guys. So I've been reading this thread for a while and i thought id post my head. being only 15 its not going to be the best. but i'm working on a new one now. i do have questions though. What could i use for eyes that would be transparent enough for the led's to shine through but not enough for daytime when the lights are not on. and how could i activate touch leds from inside the eyes? any help would be gladly appreciated:cool

Looks good! I bought some clear plastic globes that I am going to use for my eyes with lights on the inside. I don't understand what you mean by touch LEDs though. I am using some stickup lights that I bought that I can turn on from the inside of the head. I just cut holes the size of the lights in the head and will glue them in place and I can turn them on from inside.

Here is a picture of the plastic globe that I will be covering the eye with. I used the frosted effect spray paint on it.

Here is a picture of the head with the lights out. I am not able to get full coverage with the paint like I wanted to. I think next time I will have to use the glow in the dark powder instead of the paint to get the full coverage that I am looking for. I don't have time to change it now. The show is in 2 days. lol

In order to make my eyes, I disassembled the springs out of the two tap lights I bought from Wal-Mart, inserted the lens into the eye opening into my head, and hot glued the LED lamp behind the tap light lens and it came out great.

Just one thing I have noticed about the tap lights is that I personally feel that the eyes come out too flat when you use those. That's just my opinion though.
