No, that is automotive gloss black. The grips were very finicky on this one as the paint was doing some weird patterns while drying. So I sanded them and repainted. I guess you could paint it black chrome as long as the base is shiny. A buffing wheel and polishing compound can get aluminum pretty close to a chrome shine. But it's take a lot of time and elbow grease to achieve that look. It's a popular alternative to chrome plating on motorcycles with aluminum rims and accessories. I've done it on forward controls and it took hours to polish it to shine like chrome.
