D.C.'s Supergirl (tv series)

Hey, me too! The powers behind the show seem to be combing out the tangles and figuring what works/doesn't. Still not digging Jimmy Olsen and the other office geek's ability to easily hack into the most high-end security systems is a stretch, but if you can accept that this little cutie pie is a flying alien then I guess ya just gotta go with it.

Ive already had my rant in the things you're tired of seeing thread about the massively overused and pathetic trope of "slightly nerdy friend= total expert on all things technical"

It's probably only a matter of time before that character demonstrates his total mastery of metal working and casting to design and build, from scratch, some new piece of tech that, in the real world, would've made him a millionaire, but in tv land barely merits a "good job" from his cool friends.

This trope shows up so often, in so many shows, that most people actually expect it now. In tv/ movie universe: nerd= world class expert in all programming languages, computer protocols, as well as all tradeskills, both current and obsolete... Except for auto repair.

Right. You need a muscle-bound greasy guy to do auto repair. That or a cantankerous, greasy old man.

Or an absurdly beautiful woman who looks just as good in coveralls as she does in a dress, if not better. Plus, nobody takes her seriously as a mechanic, even though she's the mechanical equivalent of EINSTEIN.

Blood bonds.

they basically side stepped the whole general zod issue from the movie by turning non into zod. not a bad idea on the whole, but it makes zod a little less special if and when they decide to bring him in.

i do love their take on the martian manhunter....and he even looks good in costume.

I want to like this show. like I did Flash from the start. but there are just little things about it that annoy me, just like in with smallville.

I thought it refreshing when Calista (I forget the character name) figured her out, and I was disappointed when Kara found a way to maintain her secret. Calista was obviously okay with it, and wasn't going to go to press with it or anything. She'd have been a new ally and have made Kara's life a lot easier. An opportunity for a fresh new alternative to the old Perry White situation was wasted.

I agree that it still has a few annoyances... Mostly we even agree on what those are, but overall I am liking this show so far. Even Calista Flockharts character is improving...i actually do like her as an actress, so it's nice that they are slowly writing her to be less of a horrific cliche with each episode.

And I'm loving Melissa Benoist.

So far it seems like it's (slowly) working out its issues. I expect the tired lazy cliches to continue at least a little while longer, but forward progress is forward progress, and I do feel like it's going in the right direction.

I wonder if this series will do a live action version of the B:TAS episode. where IIRC, Harley, Ivey vrs Batgirl and Supergirl

I love the inclusion of Martian Manhunter!

I really hope they do a crossover with flash

I heard the powers that be said they'd look at it for 2016/17, but not before (the crossover with flash and or arrow).
