Silver?

Doubtful. In the DC universe, Silver St. Cloud was a lifelong love interest of Bruce just as much as Selina. Silver found out that Bruce was Batman, said nothing, went away for a while, came back, got ENGAGED to Bruce, and was then promptly murdered (in true comic-book fashion).
 
Bringing this one back from the dead. I kind of had to after yesterdays episode. Personal opinion here and all that, but I think the quality has dropped dramatically from the previous season. There are still some things I'm enjoying, like the smaller plot lines with the Riddler and Penguin. Actually, I think what I liked best about the series was the not over the top villains. This season has done a complete 180. Galavan and his sister and their entire storyline are so completely over the top every week that I just can't stand to watch. And then throw in Barbara "I'm crazy because I'm supposed to be crazy" just.... UGH.

I do know one thing, if I ever end up living in Gotham I'm either going to be a police marksman instructor or a surgeon that specializes in left shoulder bullet wounds!
 
I'm kind of sick of the whole Galavan fiasco. I hate the character, not in a good "I hate them because they are so evil" kind of way, but in a I hate them because the characters plot line sucks kind of way.

They had a lot of potential there, but just kind of threw it away

Butch's character seemed to change a lot from last season, I know he is mind controlled, but the actor kind of all of a sudden started playing him with a whole new tone this season, well after his reconditioning last season. It's almost like someone said, hey, it's not obvious enough that they screwed with your brain so try throwing in some uncontrollable twitching and comic relief

I was so hoping they would kill off Barbara with that fall, but no, of course she has to have made it with some broken bones so they can bring her back later. Meanwhile the best character they had all season (Jerome) they killed off after something like two episodes

I did enjoy the Penguins tactic of dressing up a bunch of guys looking like him to storm the party making it harder to ID him
 
Agreed, but the police tactics really did suck. They make a show of wanting to put just about every cop at the mansion to protect the new mayor, then let a couple of dozen guys on foot get in, after they'd been spotted well beforehand.

I still enjoy the show, but better writing would do wonders for it.

I was very pleased to see that the Riddler's picnic blanket was my family's tartan (hunting McLean.) It's not one you see that often.
 
Is Galavan, this old rival family, part of real Batman lore or is it just some crap the show writers came up with?
 
Meh, it was Ok. I couldnt get over how EVERY major DC Batman villain was literally in the same apartment building. Im mean Cmon.....do they all have to know each other?

Agreed. I can't wait to see their friendship blossom. :D

That said, the cult thing is weak. I don't like it at all. I am very tired of Barbara, also. She is just annoying. I want to see Bruce start wising up and manning up. He's very naive and foolish. Time to start toughening him up some more, I think.
 
Well, he got pretty smart in this week's episode. Silver got played, big time. And I loved the conversation he had with Selina about what he'd been whispering to Silver.
 
Still liking it overall, but there is some of the "hero does really stupid stuff because the plot wants him to" kinds of things I've been complaining about Arrow doing.

The baddies propose an elaborate thing for you to do? You know, you can always NOT DO IT. A tape that says "play me", a mysterious box is delivered... it's like the Carroll "drink me" bottle. Just don't!

Looks like Bruce had a growth spurt.
 
Well that was an interesting episode this week. Did Gordon really off Galavan? I don't know that I believe that.

Also, did anyone notice Fish floating in that fluid at Indian Hills at the end? You can tell it's her by the pink hair. Pleeeeaaaaaaaaase don't bring her back! I was so glad she was gone.
 
I must admit - the show has turned from a take it or leave it in Season 1, to a "Is Gotham available yet?" for me. Absolutely agree on some of the silly plot points, but I have very similar gripes with Arrow, to a lesser degree Flash (which is almost, almost perfect).

Some great development on Bruce - I really think they've realised that they cant get away with not showing Batman through the prism of this kid. Gordon is good, but he is becoming a bit one note. I think as we see the next 2/3 years assuming it goes for 5 seasons or so, it would make a ton of sense to at least get a proto Batman in there, maybe Year One style but extended. Finds the "bat" in the Series Finale etc.

Costume wise I think they've almost smashed it - Firefly was brilliant, it looks like in that promo, Mr Freeze, Hugo Strange - they look brilliant. Not saying they're casted perfectly but time will tell.

Looking forward to it. Really love that we live in a time where we get live action adaptations of some of our favourite characters!
 
Hugo Strange - great character! Thought they captured a nice, simple, clean character there, the actor did a great job.

Mr Freeze - perhaps not a ton of material to work with, but great that theyre going down the sympathetic route with the character. It makes sense within the pre-established Gotham we have seen.

Jim Gordon...less and less interested in him as we go. I hope they get us back on board with him soon. But I feel he is a fairly mediocre representation (and dont get me wrong, the actor could probably do a bit more if given some stronger plot points) amongst a quickly growing and well casted set of villains and side characters.

Nigma, Penguin and Bullock - excellent side characters.
