CYBERMAN Helmet Show-off thread

Cyberman

Sr Member
Hi guys,

Just thought it would be cool to show off one of my recent additions to my collect. Its classed as the MKIII Cyberman from the story "The Wheel in Space"... I've weathered it a little to give it some character.

Nice.

Everytime I see one of these I wonder how well the actors were able to see out those mesh holes. They probably wouldn't be as scary with white canes and seeing-eye dogs.

Now that's real OLD SKOOL.

Yours looks a damn site better than the ones in the show. Is that actual fluid in the tubes?

Now the daddy :D

Is that cyberman helmet symetrical? It looks a lot more symetrical than the one seen on screen especially the eye holes.

Another RPF member posted a pic of a cybercontroller that was screen used lately (I think from that era) and the lower part of the face looked a bit different.

I am not taking anything away from your really nice helmet just curious about it :)

It may just be the picture angle.

More pics please

Great helmet :thumbsup

Cheers Chris.

Which helmet are you referring to?

Hi RKW,

Apologies my mistake the cybercontroller is from Tomb of the cybermen but all of the old cybermen appear to have the same sagging face on one side / one oval eye / one round eye thing going on as far as I can see.

Here is the Tomb cybercontroller which I spoke about is an incredible piece of TV history http://www.therpf.com/index.php?showtopic=...cybercontroller

Both Tomb and wheel in space are Patrick Troughton era.

Sorry for straying off topic cyberman just answering RKW's question.

Again great helmet :thumbsup

Cheers Chris.

I've never seen a perfectly symetrical cyberman helmet. But at the end of the day, the screen character of these pieces is the mark that says... these are original.

Hi Cyb,

Cool :thumbsup

Possibly you could treat us to more pics

Pleeeeeeease

Cheers Chris.

I hate it when I see a helmet like that and have no clue where it came from or anything about that piece. Can you give me some history or the name of the show it came from? Beautiful piece BTW.

Its a cyberman from Doctor Who. The cybermen have evolved from the 1960s Dr Who stories right through to today. The have enjoyed incredible longevity and been reinvented numerous times.

With the new Dr Who series back on the map I often wonder how cool it would be for the time travelling Doctor of today to bump back into one of the older styles of cybermen. It would be very nostalgic and a great plot line as well.

Cheers Chris.

Hey Rick

Check out www.mfxreplicas.com for more info.

I'm watching "Tomb of the Cybermen" right now. I'm surprised at how well it holds up. Two makes me laugh out loud a lot. I am really starting to love the guy.

There's a special feature on the disc talking with the actor who played the Cyber Controller. His jaw was hinged on the helmet, but he just opened his mouth for the entire line and the sound is not unlike those old video games that talked to you in the 80s. Creepy effect.

Great helmets, everyone.

Cool helmet.

I am just getting into Dr Who myself and just finished watching my first episode featuring the Cybermen (1985, Tom Baker was the Doctor).

LOL wasn't it 1975 that Tom Baker took over? You must have been watching Revenge of the Cybermen ;)

Oh yeah I'm thinking Revenge of the Cybermen with "Colin" Baker.

I'm a newb, forgive me. :angel

Heres my Newest Version of Cyberman. This is a MK 5 "Revenge of the Cybermen" Leader helmet (the coolest and first Leader cyberman IMO). I'm eventually hoping to have ALL the different cybermen mounted on a giant wall display, above the staircase glaring down menacingly. Some will be original replicas... i.e. the MFX version (an order will be on its way in the near future Neill :D ) and the Earthshock Version but all the others will be my own creations from scratch like the MK2 Tomb version (that I'm working on now) MK 3 Wheel in Space (as seen at the top of this thread) The MK 4 Invasion and this Revenger.
