Just to confirm what Riceball said. The hexagon pattern does exist, because the whole idea is the hexes are like small armor scales that can be destroyed when taking a hit in " Maximum Armor " mode, to be immediately replaced by new ones below.

Such a pattern could be done with a special stamp on a sculpture, that would be quick; Anyway, Darthchiro, your render is great !

If you want more close shot of the suit, take a look to the game's cinematic intro; I think there is a lot of material here.

That said, my company's been working with Crytek for years now, and even thought we do not do games, we saw the nanosuit way too much on our computers... As a souvenir, I'd may pep the helmet one of those days, just for fun.

If I can find enough source photos, I plan on sculpting a suit for a display after the turtles and MMPR are outta here.

well i started on mine's like 2 days ago. still a lot of tweaking to do. but had to put it on hold since I'm working on the hulk buster. XD well enjoy the picture. The visor was made from scratch and the lens as well.

For good reference material, try to find a poster art of the game's cover. Nanosuit 1 in full details there, with the mesh bump ( appears to be roughly 0.5 millimeters ) and connections between the silicone-looking grey parts and the brushed-aluminium metal parts.

I recommend Foamies or foam rubber as other on here call them. They work wonders and I imagine they would work rather well. Don Roberts seems to do an amazing job with them, just look at his Ironman Suit.

A good material for this costume would be a a wetsuit for diving. The material looks very similar.

Crysis 2 Nanosuit - My Saga Beings?

Hey guys!

So, I saw the Crysis 2 suit a bit ago and immediately thought "I gotta get me that"... So I'm planning on building one...

I've built costumes before, and know my way around sewing pretty well.. but I've NEVER build anything dimensional, never done anything as complex as this suit, NEVER built solid pieces (like helmets and things), and NEVER done pepakura.

So I think I might be diving right into the very deep end of the pool. I've done some thinking, research, and I have an amazingly well outfitted costume shop that I can use.

But I sure could use any input and suggestions you all may have! I have attached a graphic with some preliminary thoughts and approaches, and could REALLY use input on those!

Also, I live in Macau. It's about an hour from Hong Kong. So I have SO much random stuff at my disposal. I found some really good fabric that's a pretty close match. (a photo included) It's inexpensive and I can buy any amount... but I also found a manufacturer that will make almost an exact replica. But it's a custom order (of any color and to my specifications) with a minimum 500 meter order (yikes)... Any thoughts on that side of things? Anyone else hoping to get their hands on some fabric too that would like to go in on an order?

Super excited to begin this project... and away we go!

Essentially... As for the helmet from Crysis, I have one. I built it a year ago and I have to finish it. I want to make an exact replica of the helmet from the first part of the game. Here's a few pics (sorry for terrible quality of photos):
