Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan Gauntlet Weapon

My 7-11 was fully stocked. They must have had at least 30 cups. I bought 2. Already got the cup off. I just did it by bending in one side from the top and then using a pair of vice grips to clamp down on the fold. Then the whole cup just came right out!

Added a little padding.

This thing is awesome. Just broke the cup off of one of them, and did this:

Think I'll keep the other as a cup!

So someone tell us.... what is the diameter of this thing? Is it a complete bracelet on the Blaster Cup?

So additional info.... I am about to pull the trigger to buy one but curious if I can get it to fit my wrist.... I appreciate whatever you have info wise...

I just picked one up today, having some trouble getting the cup out of it. The ID is roughly 9". It's a little too big for my arm, but I'll wear it to the movie and it'll look great on a shelf.

Yeah I tried Soulinertia's method and still had a little trouble so I'll add this additional info.
It's connected with a peg/hole system. The fold has to be far enough down to get all the pegs. To make it easier I simply sliced off the bottom of the cup with a dremel. You don't have to cut close to the gauntlet. You are just enabling the cup to collapse by removing the base.

Then make your fold/crease at the end of the blue word slurpee, (opposite the lights so not to risk catching the wires) simply push in the top and squeeze a few times to get it started. Then take a long screwdriver and gently work it all thru the cup at that spot. I started at the bottom but it works either way. Set it all on your work top and just gently push down/inward on the screwdriver to collapse/fold the plastic cup in on itself the entire length. Then grab the black piece with the vice grips or a pair of pliers and it will easily come out.

Took maybe 5 minutes and that included figuring out the extra steps. Hope it helps.

I couldn't find a screwdriver (or much else of use) so it took me a lot longer than 5 minutes, but I finally got it out! I lined it with foam and it''s pretty cool now, but I decided to actually look at some screen grabs for the first time after I put it on and then was very disappointed. I think I would have preferred the slimmer closed version to the (what is this technically, HALF open) one that came on the cup.

I'm heading to my local 7-11 today! Thanks RPF for posting the FB link, otherwise I probably wouldn't have found this thread otherwise.

Looking at the ref pics in the first post more...this thing almost has like an oil color to it, so I'm going to try a few things with the color.

Soulinertia- what did you use to pad it out & how did you attach? I'm def. going to need to do this with mine.

Also bought two...in case I fail in my first attempt!

Just a thought.. couldn't you use a heat gun on the inside of the cup, so it becomes soft, and will collapse easily? If you heat it from inside, that should also keep the outer manacle shell from heating up too much, I'd think.

Is there any way to tell where the pegs are? it could well be that just heating those two spots would be enough to free the outer shell.

:thumbsup Thinking the same thing! :cool

Stopped in to 3 7-elevens today...paydirt at the third. I picked up 2, working on getting them off for a repaint now. Pics to follow.
