Cowboys & Aliens - Jake Lonergan Gauntlet Weapon

Risu, yeah with out a screwdriver or metal rod to push down the center it would be tougher.

As for the rest there are 4 pegs I believe and they are not placed symmetrically. I don't think heating it would be the way I would go. Honestly took less than 5 minutes and was pretty easy if you have the right tools.

I picked up 2 at my local 7-11, they had a ton of them there. Shame the thing cost $7 and the cup is the size of a small slurpee. If it weren't for the brain freeze, I would have gulped a cup down and then refilled, before going to the counter.
Nice piece for the price, though.

Here's the base-coat I used...it's an automotive spray-paint with a nice silver/bronze look I plan on rusting and giving that oil-look too. More pics to follow:

^ That's what I'm talkin' about! Keep up the good work, Sap. :thumbsup

My wife thinks I'm crazy, but we are heading back home from the 7-Eleven in San Marcus (45 miles from home) with Slurpee cups in tow!

I found a few cups at the 7-11 near by. After looking at the cup and comparing the replica on the cup to the screen caps, the gauntlet on the cups are much smaller from what I can tell. Not to mention, the gauntlets on the cups are painted a dirty bronze color, whereas the ones from the first few screencaps looks like stainless steel.

Hey just stopped by and my 7-11 has plenty of the cups! Just got a few to play with and if anyone else wants one I can can ship them off to ya.

Looks like I'll be able to use a few pieces from the cup in my sculpt.

Anyone have any leads on finding the vest, hat or gun belt?

Thanks!

After going to 5 of the 7-11's in my area I found the only one that just stocked up. So I bought 4 to mess around with. :)

So, once you have cup part removed, what's the best method to get the 2 halves apart? Just cut the 4 pegs holding them together or will just pulling them apart work without damaging them? Are they glued together?

I was messing with it last night, but it got too late and I had to stop messing with it. Also didn't want to break it apart unnecessarily.

I used a can of "Light Champagne Met" or (PV4) made by Omni-Color / Omi-Pak. It says "perfect match" for Chrysler colors.

And Soul- I agree about the silver...that was going to be my next step before I start rusting/destressing!

Hit 3 different 7-11s, the first two didn't know what I was talking about when I asked if they had the Cowboys & Aliens wristblaster promotional cups. The third one had some and I got two.

Got one of the cups off already. Looking forward to following this thread to see what you guys do with yours for some ideas.

Seriously, I think the one that's in the film is much smaller than the one on the cup. I say this because of the way it seems to be close fitting around Daniel Craig's wrist in the shots. Does anyone else think so or am I misjudging the size?

I think I'd have to agree with you on that.

well this is what mine looked like the last time I saw it... hopefully I didn't just make a $90 mistake. We'll see tomorrow I guess.

I'm still not super happy with it, but if I am going to have any time to assemble and pimp it out before comic-con, I really needed to progress to the next step.
