seems like after a day of sanding and bondo, I am going backwards instead of forwards. Hopefully the greeblies will sharpen it up a little...

it almost seems like I need to cast it in resin and then cut the resin cast apart so I can deal with the parts individually. It's a learning process for sure.

It really is looking very promising.. best of luck! Looking forward to seeing it come together. Are you going to trim out the inside surfaces accurately or not bother?

In the trailer it looks like the inside surfaces become panels that open and extend out to become the guns, so I think for the costume - no it is not necessary. For static display of the closed gauntlet it would be nice for sure - but that is another project...

A few posts up the page I attached some screengrabs from the couple of split seconds in the trailer where you see the insides if you need them

oh I see - you meant the inside of the ring - the part that touches the skin? Ah no - not detailing those for the costume! But maybe afterward for when it sits on the shelf that would be a good project, so I appreciate the grabs :)

Very nice job so far, kimncris. Started looking this up after I stumbled across something funny at 7-11 today... I've had a similar feeling about this gauntlet as most of you have been describing. Even if the movie tanks, it still looks cool. 7-11 has got a promotion going with cups and the like, and their "deluxe" version is a big cup made to look like the gauntlet, but around a standard black cup with the title printed on. It looks pretty close to scale, and is fairly well detailed and weathered (could use a repaint, obviously) but one of the neatest features is it's got LED's built into this sucker. The panels on the front of it are rigged to light up already. I'm tempted to grab one and mod it a bit and see if it'll work.

They are $6.99, so I want to do a little bit of digging first and I had the thought to see if anyone here had any similar ideas.

Plus it's a good excuse to get a Slurpee!!! :)

Found the one on ebay.. $14 for a slurpee cup!

It does look like it needs a major repaint, but you could probably cut it off, and fill the inside with foam so it would be wearable.
