My guess is that Matt Munson knocked up the daughter of a regional godfather during his stay in italy last year. The mob found him at long last, broke his fingers and Matt is typing all of this with his nose.

Just to not lose his face (would make writing even harder, without a nose ) in front of his wife, he tells us all that the Corben Dallas project got canned, since he can´t tell the truth about Italy and his new offspring.

It can mean that

a) Matt Munson plans to see all 5.5 seasons of "24" in one single session back to back, probably leaving him paralyzed for years due to adrenaline overload. Since he is a good guy, he won´t accept orders for a product that he might not be able to deliver, due to slim chances of full recovery from this experience.

B) Matt Munson will replace Kiefer Sutherland in the middle of season six and until the end of the following seasons or the possible spin offs such as "48" "7 weeks in Europe" or "Just another 10 minutes, mom..."

c) He just C U T (anagram) his left thumb off and is too much of a whiner to have it sewn back on

Curse you, Matt Munson, for first journeying Europe incognito and then making us all live with the knowledge that we won´t be able to have a metal Dallas blaster...

Oh, by the way, could it be that the Political Correctness agency got wind of the project and the government issued a quick "no product called blaster or gun may be associated with Dallas, to not disturb the memory of an american president" ?
