Just stumbled across this thread, I have an older 1970's era RMI (reportedly made by Marushin) Colt Python replica and just scored this off of ebay, probably of the same vintage...
I also had an RMI 1911 like in your original post, Adam Savage actually bought it from me from the Junkyard about 15 - 16 years ago.
