Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Mk 42, 2014 Update Movie Fiberglass Version Pics!

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Skill Builds Mk 42 (update!) Chest and Back!

Dude, really love your stuff here :) I have tried a couple of times using foam, but it went straight to the crapper. First using 2mm, then 6mm... I thought about using card-paper next time, but I see that you're using cardboard here. What's the easiest, card-paper or cardboard? And are you using the flaps on the pep-cutouts when using cardboard?

Thanks :)

Its easy for me to use cardboard but you have to play around with a few materials to learn how they work? Once you get good at one using various methods stick with it. :thumbsup
that's looking great man

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Skill Builds Mk 42 (update!) Biceps and Forearms!

Hey, guy's here's a small update and some pics of my finished shoulder shield and Bicep scratch pattern build. The file that was out didn't satisfy me so i drew all the pieces and assembled them. Ofcourse I scrapped one cuz of trial and error but I made it work fine. I put up a mock dress down just to get a visual sense of what size dimention I was achieving? It looks pretty good for my 5'8'' frame and weight but we'll see? Enjoy guy's it's on to the lower body now! Keep Building!....:thumbsup

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Skill Builds Mk 42 (update!) Biceps And Forearms!

Quick question for you man. Watched your youtube vides and that cardboard mk 3 is insane! So much that im going to stab at making my mk vi in card. After pepping a helmet and it warping its taken me ages so even though ive done a pep chest back and bicepts, Im debating swapping as the shape is kept better on the cardboard.

Question is. How do the hands hold up as card board? I've seen a few foam/card builds when the hands look huge (Guessing to the thickness of the card...).

Also, how do you go about coating/Bondoing your foam?

Keep up the Excellent work!

There are ways to fix warping, shared with you in a PM. As for the gloves you have to find a way to make them the way you want them to look. There are threads on gloves here that can help. Zabana has a good one..:ninja

I have to admit that I was impressed with these builds from everyone...they are all great! and I know they're gonna get much better...My suit is hard but easy to build, I think in a 3d mindset" lol....Now that I look at it some paint would look good on this Beast! :lol Keep building dude! cant wait to see these all posted here in our threads!....

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Skill Builds Mk 42 (update!) Biceps And Forearms!

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Skill Builds Mk 42 Leg Sneak Peek!

Slow on Updates fellas but I am not satisfied with some of my results, so I remade a few things. I made 3 helmets and i am now "Satisfied" with the last one because it is the closest to the screen verision as i can get. Trying to be as accurate as possble is a pain sometimes , Guess thats my curse? The build now that its finished. I am prepping for paint as we speak. Here's a few shots of a near perfect helmet just have to add the lip its on my mannequin with the chest and abs. I am remaking the thighs and will be doe in a few days.
