Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Mk 42, 2014 Update Movie Fiberglass Version Pics!

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Mk 42 Update Movie Fiberglass Version Pics!

Having to repaint alot of pieces and do repairs to errors its what takes so long. Sanding by hand is a B****!...BTW Did I say Movie Quality? Or Movie Version?...Keep Building!

Hey man thanks to you I've started with cardboard but whose pep files did you use for the fiberglass version??? Or is it a scratch build?

this is wonderful work. i apologized if i missed the post if this was answered but was this done freehand or using a unfolded file? and if so was it pepakura? i ask because i have a mac and pepkura won't work so i'm trying to find patterns i can open and size without it. thanks for any help you can give.

Thanks, It is a pep file(s) unfortunately I dont know if anyone has files for MAC users? maybe you can convert the ones you have? I know some of the new guy's did this and it worked out fine...

Nothing much just some small things to finish up the upper armor -w- soft armor pieces. Soft armor pieces are ncesary if you wanna have some control over your Fiberglass suit. just some tips and tricks I use to get the desired look I want. The knee brace and foam strips are what makes the inner elbow joints.

holy crap. .ok that's it, gonna make a mark 42 again :lol looks killer man

Dude I love the suit looks amazing. I'm currently making the mk 42 and peped the helmet I'm just wondering when do you separate the face plate? It doesn't keep its shape when left of and worried after resin, fiberglass and bondo it won't match up?

Again suit looks beautiful you could give the real Tony Stark a run for his money.

Thanks Bro, I always look forward to everything I see you guy's build on here. And You are way too talented to waste time on another 42 But It ia a popular suit.

If you are going to San Diego comic con again will you wear one of you suits? And last year did you go to comic con on Sunday?
I didn't attend last year but I will be there this year 2014 and waiting for them to let purchasing passes begin.

It does after you fiberglass inside and out of the helmet. But you must reinforce itwith Glassmat and re-resin for strength. There are ways to get past warping by applying heat to a piece and reshaping it after.
This is just as we would all expect from this guy. He truly has a gift. An eye for detail...GM
Thanks, Murdoch I try my best to bring perfection to RPF I guess its my curse. "Lol...

Outstanding work man, I'm about to start on my first build and this is inspirational.
Thanks Bro, and good luck on your build. Just remember to take your time and study other builders work. it helps...

Wow!awesome work, man! (y)thumbsup:thumbsup I fell in love of your mark 42 in cardboard.
Even I am building my mark 7 in cardboard (Stealth docet:D) and I hope to become beautiful and defined as your.
If you do not mind I will use your idea to cover elbows and knees with elastic support... great idea(y))

Re: Cardboard Specialist: Iron Man Mk 42 With A Few Minor Adjustments.. Its' Alive!!

What pepakura files did you use for the body? And for the head, was it Gimpee's mk 42 head?
