Captain Jack Sparrow's Flintlock Pistol replica

Happy new year crew!
I'm back to annoy you all with another Captain Sparrow prop, Jack's iconic single shot flintlock from the Pirates of the Caribbean series.



This pistol started life as a Denix Kentucky flintlock, with the solid brass end cap to the Barrel. Its roughly the same shape and style, so a great starting point.


Here are some WIP shots from back in 2014.
The main mods it needed was having the barrel hand filed from hexagonal to a half rough/half hex,

The Barrel needed some engraving, both to read "Perry London" and to have some decorative banding.

It needed the timber extended to replace the brass end cap. It needed the trigger guard replaced to a closer one, and the sideplate and buttcap needed to be added. The Sideplate and buttcap were cast in pewter from a knock off of the Zizzle Jack Sparrow pistol.

Yep, I could have. But I mention this in my YouTube video, that importing anything firearms related into Australia can be a bit of a headache. I think casting my own parts ended up being cheaper and more fun anyway

Thanks man! It certainly feels great as a prop, and while not exact, it feels like a perfect partner to my handmade timber and metal compass I made a year or so ago

Well done! I'm a blacksmith in my spare time and have been working on a flintlock. Maybe I'll make it a Jack Sparrow version!

Was considering a similar mod, but the current denix kentucky doesn't have the screw at the back of the barrel. I wondered if they cheapend out on the current versions...
