What exactly did Hellocosplay tell you about doing the back of the jacket more screen accurate? Did they also quote you a price or tell you more or less how it would look?

Guys looking at getting a chest star, found a caster but two questions
I can get cast them in urethane resin or polyurethane rubber, which should i go for?
And what colour silver or white seem a few versions but the movie seem to be white but I cant tell?

Ive been told though resin will take paint alot easier and the paint will wear alot quicker on urethane rubber.

you can have the urethane one allready cast in silver, if you want to, i guess. urethane is better because its soft and moves with the fabric. if the fabric bends while moving, with a resin one on it, it can pop off

The star should be silver. You're right, urethane won't take paint like resin will, but there are certainly ways to get around that. The urethane will give you more flexibility

For those of you still trying to decide between the suits, I also got a response from Hello Cosplay on the back belt question, and got a little clearer answer along with the sizing disclaimer:

This is a great thread and one that echo's what I've been thinking of. Not sure if anyone else has come across Cosplayhouses version:

The belt and gloves are nice on this!! the top part is nice too but I don't like the pants and the under jacket is too dark for my liking.... not a bad suit though!

For the work that still needs to be done on v2. I'd say the Indy Magnoli suit would be better.
At some point we hit diminishing returns spending and cost cutting at the same time.

Did you go with a UK supplier for the star or NA?

Yeh I used a uk supplier for the star it was £15 inc p+p
Well in all honesty it's funding apartly as just treated the other half to a holiday for my birthday haha and I'm waiting a longer tape measure as i only have one that's about 25" so it wouldn't measure accurately enough for me and I don't want wrong measurements on the suit 1" could make a huge difference

Laban's star is nice so you have no worries with that
out of the chinese ones I have seen being put on here and having bought suit #1 I think I made the right choice, it's nicely made too, I'm in the process of making a new back buckle for it from foam as the one on it is the only bit that's had no effort put into making it..... the rest of the suit is pretty good out of the box tbh

I know the feeling!! My other half is going all of my basic sewing on the suit gotta treat her or she won't do it

Guys, The boots arrived yesterday and they are slightly too small so I offered them to a fellow member and he'd lucky got a vintage pair of ww2 boots so I've just stretched the boots slightly to make them more comfortable. I did this by putting on 6 pairs of socks (yes 6 pairs) then I hit the boots with heat from my partners hair dryer and the leather then becomes more workable and stretched the boot with my foot inside. But the heat dehydrates the leather at the same time but I now have a little more room in the boots. The boots arrived in a sandy type colour and looks very well used. So because they were dehyrated and the wrong colour I put some wax polish on the boot (dark tan colour) and rehyrated them here is before

I am very happy with the colour just need to dye the suede tongue and add some laces and the boots are done! I will tomorrow balm them up to make the leather stronger and more hydrated after more stretch with the same method

What do you think guys?
