how easy is it to get hold of the belt and holster in the brown leather? for suit number 1?

Looks like I'm in the same boat as you, even working on building my own shield at this time. As for the costume choices, I'm leaning towards #2 myself. The denim look of #1 just isn't doing it for me and it's just gonna fade even more over time.

It's a darker blue to start with, and when I've washed it a couple times to the correct colour I won't be planning on washing those parts so as to not lose the colour, it's not like it's gonna be worn everyday...

That is the down fall with the denim it will fade but on the good note its not a suit I'm going to wear too often maybe twice a year and if I put on my SSR t-shirt underneath (sticking with the theme here ) It should get wash not very often.
The trouble with number 2 is that although they will do the V shape straps there is no photo evidence of the quality of their work doing this method so for me number 1 was a more safer option..
On a positive note there seems a lot of guys (I've counted 5 I think) building T.F.A suit at this time, so to make all our life's easier if we help each other we should get some accurate suit

I have been told by a friend I look like him a little so I am also starting on this build. So I will need all the help I can. I am leaning towards #1 too.

I didn't say it was accurate, I said it is my fave on the market, he didn't do the leather part under the nose etc he made it to his liking, It's my personal fave

It's my first costume, and compared to all the others I have looked at I like this best, I may add some leather under the nose myself depending on how I think it looks on me

Please say, for those that are purchasing, where they can get the best.

Or for my case, since time is not a factor but money is, how to make a correct helmet. I for one what the most economically and accurate helmet. I like the idea of the helmet and liner as two parts and don't want to have multiple goes that it.

The only source material currently have is some photos, the PS3 Captain America Game and the Diamond Select figure and I know the D.S. is off lacking the chin strap.

Hi Guys just changed the title as this is now a build thread for my first costume!!
I'm excited and got a huge bug for this but it will move slowly due to buget and time but I want it finished for the Birmingham UK RPF expo as a display

First thing I have brought is the boots here is a picture (sorry for bad quality pic) will get some better shots when they arrive...

well i was going to just display my shield but thought a suit would go awesome with it.. but I have a Iron Man 2 arc reactor and a mark 1 reactor that I'm making into Tony Stark has a heart display, couple of busts I have, and few other pieces not a lot as I've be collecting only about a year but the ultimate aim to do all the avengers costumes but the ironman suit is a killer!!
