Captain America: Civil War

Crossbones looks good until you reach his knees. The baseball shin guards are a little too obvious. But those are some mean ass knuckle dusters he's got on! I never knew Crossbones rolled like that, thought he was strictly a run and gun guy.

Few seconds into the trailer, the Indian accent gives it away. It's not Kevin Feige's voice. It's fake and the Crossbones vs Cap footage is taken from some of the set videos captured in Atlanta.

According to a tweet from Nerdcast, we have our teams revealed.

On Captain America's team, there's
Cap, Hawkeye, Falcon, Scarlet Witch, and Ant-Man

On Iron Man's team, there's
Iron Man, Vision, Spidey, Black Widow, and War Machine

No real surprises, for the most part. For me, the most interesting part to see how plays out will be that
Natasha and Clint are on different sides
.

Why would Spidey....? I mean, isn't MJ in play at this point? Wouldn't that ruin that whole dynamic for SPidey having to keep MJ and Aunt May in the dark? IS MARVEL TRYING TO HELP SONY DESTROY THEIR FRANCHISE FOR A THIRD TIME?!!?!

We don't really know if the battle will be about secret identities in this like the book was, it could be more about Tony's side trying to be a united front of heroes that have come together to get in front of the issue and be accountable for their past actions. I still think the SHRA will come into play, but it might have less of a focus on revealing their civilian names. I also don't believe we will see the Peter Parker press conference/reveal, that just seems out of place in a movie universe where he's pretty new. Comic Peter had years of hiding his identity as well as a history with all of these characters, so it made sense.

I agree with this

I don't think the storyline will end up being as close to the comic book as some other folks do. There simply aren't enough "super" heroes in the MCU for the secret identity thing to make much sense at this point.

My thoughts about the storyline keep going back to Stark coming up with some kind of device or program that helps the government spy on their own citizens somehow. Stark has been on a downward spiral ever since the first "Avengers" film. The other thing, he's clearly the "bad guy" in this, because...well...it's "Captain America: Civil War," not "Iron Man: Civil War."

So anyway, Tony's going to be the guy that comes up with something that causes Cap to feel that the government is betraying the citizens that it's supposed to serve, and I think the story will revolve more around that.

That's just my .02. Probably way off. :lol

Well since everything ties in think about this...

Last I saw on Agents of Shield they seemed to be focusing on finding super folks i.e. meta humans or whatever,so could that snowball into Tony going all SS and trying to find and mark these people? and since Steve actually fought in WWII he could have some major bad mojo over such behaviour.

Could also have some bad effects if they corner someone and they go a-bomb and blow up a area with a lot of people, plus some of them are going to be all STFU and **** off about it.

All in all different from the comic yet still a "superhero civil war"

That's actually a really solid idea.

I don't watch "Agents of Shield." I've got too much other stuff on my DVR all the time...but, if they're trying to locate super humans, then it would stand to reason that Stark maybe invents something to help that along...maybe some kind of "test" that they can do that determines if you have any powers, and they start trying to force everyone to take the test.

Cap definitely wouldn't be down with that.

I like that concept.

That fits well with the whole Ultron creation too. Tony believes his actions are right for the world, and wants to have constant protection no matter what, he doesn't want another invasion again. So now, he makes a shield for humans from superpeople (biomechanic device that detects high powered beings and more ____buster devices and yada yada.) Steve disagrees and thinks logic will be safer than violence, and wants the superpeople to not feel threatened and should keep to themselves to not attract superpower naysayers, and thus causing something called "civil war." Cap can also use the New Avengers bunker to train them to control their powers, and not controlling the superpeople themselves. Tony however, would want complete control and a back door "in case of emergency" plan ready at all times and want the superpeople contained/put away

The thing about the whole Civil War idea that I find interesting is the guy who's going to/has backed this whole idea (Tony) isn't really superpowered,he's got the armor but without it...he's just Tony Stark billionaire genius playboy,so you could have Steve flying off the handle about the fact that Tony might not really have any idea what it's like to be a super person, true he had the arc reactor in him at one point but I think he's had that removed? I haven't kept up with the films a little (haven't seen the last Thor,CA,and Avengers) still he wasn't tossing cars around with that stuck in him.

As far as Agents of Shield the focus seems is on The Inhumans (MCU's replacement for Mutants) but I can see the idea spreading to all super folk, and then we've got Strange incoming-how do you deal with a wizard? that a whole other kettle of fish, plus Power Man and Iron Fist are going to show up,and Punisher...talk about a man who reeks of collateral damage! then Jessica Jones.

So I could see Tony getting a Hitler complex going and all hell breaking loose, but it'd be different enough from the comics to work.

I'm not a die hard Marvel guy but considering the scope, this really sounds more like it should be an Avengers movie rather than a Captain America movie.
