Captain America: Civil War

Avengers 3...erm, Civil War, looks like it might be a solid entry. I was vocal after AoU about being burned out on Marvel but darned if this doesn't look swell. Spidey is just the frosting on the cake. I'm not sure if the classic retro suit was the right call or not yet--I think I'll need more context. If it's SUPPOSED to look like a thing a kid made in his bedroom, great. If not, he stands out a bit. Still I like it. Old school Spidey come to life. :D

I think this suit is made by stark, hence the focusing eye lens.

And that's the best Stark could come up with? I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how they have written Peter into this movie without doing a full reboot of his origin and how he gets linked up with Stark. If Peter can build his own web shooters I feel like making the "shutter focusing" eyes work on his own costume should be within his abilities as well.

They might do the blame game for sometime bringing up the creation of Ultron, but the stakes are different and they have other timely matter to discuss at that moment.

I guess it's easy to Monday morning quarterback the events of NYC, DC, and Sokovia, but how would the government have done it any better? The one thing the Avengers had was autonomy. They had to freedom to react without being mired down by committees and red tape that could mean the difference between isolating an event to one city or becoming a global catastrophe.

And let's not forget that the events of NYC are a direct result of S.H.I.E.L.D. (boy I hate putting those periods in), a government agency, messing with something they had no understanding of and opening a doorway for Loki to come through. Had they just left the Tesseract in the ice none of that would have come about (in theory).

DC... S.H.I.E.L.D. again... and again, a government agency.

The biggest thing about Cap's position is how do you trust a government that didn't even know it was infiltrated by Hydra. How do you know when it's been completely purged of them? They're still popping up in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and were about to get the Yellow Jacket tech in Ant-Man, so they're still a viable threat.

Not even going into the whole thing about whether the government "superheroes" would be operating toward the best interests of humanity versus the U.S government and it's own shady interests. And what If the orders don't always align with the moral code of the heroes they're giving them too? Are they punished for not flying into a country and laying waste to people they might not have considered a threat when they were autonomous?

And, repeating what I said before about Ross... how can anyone trust that guy... and how the heck did he end up becoming Secretary of State after what happened in The Incredible Hulk?

Nah... more like this:

Well said Father. The government actually wouldn't have done a better job, they would be embroiled in bureaucracy and hierarchy, especially when its about international matters.

Lot of viewers might be watching this movie with the preconceived notion that it's mostly about Cap standing up against Stark/government to protect Bucky that sets things in motion, when in reality it's pretty much the Sokovia Accords that makes Cap take a stand early on.

I can't wait for civil war.

If I have only one complaint, it's the actor they choose for Spiderman. He looks to be about 12 from the photos I remember. I didn't think the last kid did a bad job at least from the first one.

Tom Holland looks like a 16 year old kid from high school, as he should be. He turns 20 later this year. Peter was initially in high school in the comics. There is no origin story this time, but we will see his first solo movie based on his high school days.

Also watch this video, he is perfect for the role.

If Hawkeye and black widow don't die with in the 1st 2 mins of a group fight, I'm gonna be upset. No way those two can stand toe to toe with anyone else on the teams. Scarlet witch could run the table in 5 mins flat. Since none of that will really happen..ill have to wait for war machine to peace out into a ghost in CW1 and enter so called mystery guest in CW2 that cap's the Capt. Maybe the Hulk hooks back up with Ross and beats everyone senseless while eating teddy Graham's. Oh the dreams..

I get the feeling I'm not anywhere near as hyped for this one as everyone else. Although that may be because I haven't really seen any of the MCU stuff past Avengers 1.

Sooo, Spider Slurpee?

Seriously looks like a red and blue Slurpee. Makes me wonder if cola brown Slurpee is tank treading around under there.

So is me or do BvS and Civil War possibly have the same story?(Not that it's bad). Both will start off with some sort of event that sparks government involvement. The government will want The Avengers(Superman) to be controlled. There will be two opposing viewpoints (team cap vs team stark)/(batman vs superman) they will duke it out all while someone is planning in the background (lex/Baron Zemo) and the two sides will realize they need to unite to fight a bigger cause and win and love each other again.

Man, I hope not...
