Captain America AoU(W/interchangeable pieces and Marvel Now Armor)

Hello everyone,

I've eagerly watched many builds here on the RPF for years, and finally decided to join and start a thread. I've decided I want to make a Captain America costume as he is my favorite super hero. However I am undecided on which version of his costume I should do. Please comment below and help me decide. Many thanks. You guys are awesome.

Welcome to the RPF. If you are interested in a movie uniform, I'd recommend the improved WW2 TFA uniform that will appear in the next Captain America movie.
There is enough information on the RPF of the original TFA suit and images of new suit from the trailers to have one ready for the opening next year.

Yes the Marvel Now costume. It looks like a blend of the Ultimate version and the CA:TFA costume. Nice mix of comic and realistic.

I totally agree Il Princerino. I think it is one of if not the best comic rendition of the uniform.

These are what I've narrowed it down to.

I've seen that one before. Thanks for the input Il Princerino.

On another note I'm planning on starting the shield. I have a satellite dish tucked away just for this project. I'll need to clean it off and trim it to be more circular and less oval. I will post pics when I have them.

I really like the TWS suit but think that Captain America really needs red white and blue, so...

I think thats what I'm going to do, but I would like to see if I could make the pieces interchangeable
so that I could have the movie accurate version and this concept. Thanks again! Anyone who has any ideas on how
to make the pieces interchangeable, please comment.

Thanks Hazmat. Velcro sounds like a good option....possibly snaps too now that I think about it. First I think I will put together a supply list and go from there. Thanks again.

Thanks steamshovel. I really appreciate it. I love the cap costume you did.

On another note things are going slow right now as school and work have gotten really busy, but I'm hoping I can post some pics soon. Planning on starting the shield.

Hello Captain Rogers what type of shield are you doing? I know that the new stealth shield is getting popular or are you thinking more of a classic rendition of the shield

No, I had a lot of stuff come up with school and work. Now with Avengers Age of Ultron coming out I decided to do a cosplay that is modeled after that costume.

So I have decided to make one with the AoU style instead, but I would like to make some slight changeable options like what I was going to do with the TWS suit. I would also like to build the Marvel now armor pieces to go on top of the suit. The dish I was going to use for the shield developed some rust issues so I am going to buy a saucer sled to use instead. Thanks to everyone for the support and patience.
