Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Interesting development with my Dior Black Tie frames... I just received a message from the eBay seller. They have shipped the frames to me but issued a full refund. They said the glasses were not in as good of condition as they had thought and did not feel comfortable charging me. So either I got a screaming deal or am about to receive garbage LOL... I'll keep you posted.
In the event of catastrophic damage, black acetate is not difficult to repair. If the spring hinge is broken, you need to be a little more careful. My eBay deal broke strathmore and bernardo. Bernardo had a broken hinge and transplanted it from another Bernardo. I'm learning how to make glasses, so it's helping me improve my skills.I'm your friend

Ahh... Nice. I'll keep that in mind depending on what shows up. Should be here tomorrow...

I'm making a shawford from Trussardi TR 12735. The lenses were a perfect match. It's easy if you devise frame warmers and lens grooves. Now we're going to start working on the base of the hinge. It's a good way to pass the time.
The shape of the bridge of Trussardi TR 12735 is very similar to Shawford.

Well the CD Black Tie arrived and to be honest... I can't find anything wrong with them with one exception. It appears the right arm has a slight twist where it mounts to the lens frame (apologies if I'm getting the terminology wrong LOL). When the glasses are closed the ear end is way higher than the left arm. That said when they are open or on my face there is no noticeable problem. The frames themselves seem completely fine... no scratches, etc...

Nice find on the CD’s, I was contemplating grabbing those but already have a pair and let em go. Happy they went to a good home! I also got Tanya’s lenses in mine and love em. In other news… the owner of the arcade in which I lost my glasses somehow “found” them today and turned them into security. My VZ’s are now back home safely with me!!! As the lenses are a bit scuffed, anyone recommend a reliable vendor for replacement lenses?

Wow! What luck!
Happy they are home with you. Funny, there was a pair for sale on eBay a couple weeks ago. I almost nabbed them but couldn't justify the price.

In regards to the CD's I amazingly ended up getting for free... That just might justify the expense of Tanya's lenses.

Cheers!
Steven

That must be a massive relief!
Great news

That's a great result!

If the imperfection begins to annoy you I wonder if a good optometrist could fix the issue, maybe prior to fitting your custom lenses?

From Insta... likely RayBan with amber lens (photochomic maybe)?

301 pages, lol. I wasn’t here from the beginning but the last 3-4 years here were great, I really think this is one of the few good places on the internet, with everyone helping each other. with this I would also like to say a huge public thanks to mike that helped me getting a frame (not rdj related) that was hard to ship to europe, thank you again my friend!

and to celebrate I finally found armani 7049 in pink from germany. now I don’t know whether to put clear prescription lenses or maybe my classic blue in. rdj had light violet/pink with those ones, didn’t he?

Great result.

Definitely very cool frames. I'm actually wearing mine this Saturday out to our favourite Italian restaurant:)

I love the light violet/pink, that's what I had put in mine, although recently I think UV shared a great image of said frames with clear, probably prescription lenses which also looked great

Hey, another easy one!
Think this is Ray Ban again, RB1971.Hard to guess color with the effects but perhaps the gold/green lens would shade right.

Could be stock, the red photochromic lens with bronze/copper frame. 9151/AA colorway.

NEVER MIND! IT'S THE GLCO Crescents again looking at the temple carefully.

The David Beckham DB1001/S J5G/QZ arrived. The gold frames have an interesting two tone effect with portions a matte finish and others polished. Have not had a chance to try the photochromatic lenses in the sun yet. Heading to England and Ireland on Monday so these transitional lenses will be a great to have while visiting tourist sites... Won't have to keep taking them off and on when I go into buildings.
That's my one complaint about some of the lighter tinted pairs in the collection... they are OK for overcast days (which we have a lot of in the pacific northwest) but if the sun decides to poke out there useless LOL...

Today I changed the lens of the copter with a hand cut. It is a lens made in Japan of regular supplies. Pretty good. The frame is silver. not a brush.
