Did I share these already? Screenshot_2020-04-03-02-03-30.png

Feeling inspired lately, so I messaged Tanya about one of our loose ends, the Outdoorsman:
Predictably, she doesn't know much (she started with Marvel in 2014), and she thinks like us that they're Outdoorsman and possibly vintage, but, she told me they weren't any of the stock lenses (evolve, ambermatics, etc) cause they had to be custom (anti-glare lenses). So at least we know about the lenses and if you want screen accuracy, go for light tinted amber lenses, but I understand having photochromic lenses gives them an appreciable utility

Hi everyone

First post.
I've been reading many of the posts on this thread. It has been a fantastic resource in trying to locate frames, with information shared freely and in great spirit.

Although I don't necessarily try and match the lenses or frames (or combination of both) I really enjoy the opportunity to check out styles I might otherwise miss. There was a great comment on one of the early pages on the thread which said that before the Iron Man and subsequent Marvel movies Ray Ban was often seen as the pinnacle for high quality designer eyewear. That brought a smile to my face as that was exactly how I used to see things. Oliver Peoples, Matsuda, Dita etc were all unknown to me, and probably still would be (what a terrible thought!!).

I have a pair of Neymar jr frames (the petrol and grey actually), as I said I don't try and match exactly. I would however like to be able to purchase the lenses as seen in Civil War. Do the guys at intium sell the lenses as a separate item, and do they ship to the UK?

Does anyone on the forum know how quickly intium reply to requests via their "contact us" portal, and how much the lenses might cost?
Also, does anyone know what extra charges are incurred shipping from the US to UK.

A lot of questions there, thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Mark

Hi Mark, and welcome, yeah, this thread made I think a lot of us discover a lot on glasses. To answer your question, yes, they do sell the lenses separately. They charged me around $225 for them (I bought a few frames at the same time so they may ask you a bit more idk). They generally answer within a day, and faster on their instagram account . I'm in France and the shipping costs me $59 (for frames so maybe it's less for lenses).
Hope I helped you and feel free to ask anything

Welcome!
I don’t know about shipping to the UK but I purchased my Civil War lenses separately without the frames from Jason at Initium. I actually had Jason put my prescription in them as well, I think I paid $200. Jason is usually pretty quick to respond.

Hi! I think you could have a quicker response if you dm them via Instagram

I've just ordered the Gunnar Vayper as seen in "ultron".
They were fairly inexpensive and a nice treat during these difficult times.

They look like the have a light yellow lens on the images online. Does anyone know what colour spec is seen when Tony Stark hacks Nexus? They look a more Amber colour, yellow leading towards orange, but it is difficult to tell.

Thanks

As another newcomer to the forum I certainly echo your thoughts about this group. Excellent people and fantastic resource. So for what it’s worth from another “newbie,” welcome!

They're usually pretty good about responding I am in contact with Jason who's the CEO and he does custom work all the time. I don't see any reason why they wouldn't be able to send you a pair of lenses and there's nothing wrong with asking. Worse comes to worse you can purchase the civil war shades from them. Just explain the situation to them and they should be able to work with you. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your help everyone re:the Civil war lenses.
I did contact intium on Instagram and got a reply within minutes. I'm not sure who I was talking to at Intium but they were excellent.
I have a decision to make now, either purchase the lenses only and fit them in my existing Police frames or spend the extra and just buy the Civil war frames.
Usually the decision would have already been made buy obviously we're currently in unusual times, so I told Intium it will be a few weeks before I get back to them, they were really cool with that too.

Hey all, I want to thank all those who were were satisfied in finding their much needed pairs with my help via finder's fee, I used what I got from you guys to buy the Warby Parker Cass frames and covered groceries for my upcoming 21st birthday.

I’m after an authentic pair of these but they must be out of production. I have the cheap knock offs that I swapped the lenses but they are SO cheap that the nose keeps breaking.
