Can't find Tony Stark's sunglasses from Iron Man 3

Aah, the India glasses, this is one of my upcoming task too, just need to find a good deal on the frame. I gathered some info about it, see:
These 2 are based on the work of an ancient member, Deckard...

Here is the SPX Match Lense sitting on my Anodized Aluminum Macbook Pro for Stark's India scene glasses in Spider-Man Homecoming. Its a brownish purple that is very faint with a silver flash on the outside. BUT fairly transparent. Still needs to be drilled.

Although the lens shape here isn't quite accurate, just need to get the HUD image onto a super thin clear adhesive decal sheet to apply to the inside of the lenses.
Actually, better still, a non-adhesive "static cling" type decal would be better, to remove and re-apply to the lenses whenever necessary.....

These are Jason's:
So I took what little info I got from "Deckard" from the forum and online pics, forwarded it to Jason and here's what he came up with. What do you guys think?

Just received the India Silhouettes from Jason what do you guys think ?View attachment 1089231View attachment 1089232View attachment 1089232
To me, none of those 2 designs are perfect, I always thought the lenses were more of a clubmaster* shape than cat eye, but that's my opinion. I think this picture is a good reference:
Capture d’écran 2019-12-27 à 09.51.57.png

If I had time to spare or the frame waiting for lenses, I'd make my own design right now. I think Deckard was close on his prototype even if I would have made it larger. What I'm sure of is that I'm not entirely satisfy with the exterior side of Jason's lenses.

What do you guys think ? (I highly recommend you to watch again, frame by frame, the sequence to make a good opinion)

*edit:I meant clubmaster and not wayfarer

I'm also about to start on my SPX lenses.
I think the problem here is that in the actual scenes, they do look more "wayfarer" and rectangular shaped and also more light grey than slighly purple in color.

IMO, the actual lenses probably are more rounded like Jason's, but visually, it's the HUD display with its "straight" top and bottom lcd display edges, that makes them look more rectangular.

Also, the "purple" color is only noticeable in that one (off screen?) picture...
20191227_103833.png
...but in the scenes, again, the HUD makes them look light grey.

Jason's lenses IMO, may also just be a tad too curved, as I think the lenses are flatter - e.g. if laid flat on a counter, or looking at them from above, would be "Givenchy 7125" flat.

So, I'm going to try to make some lenses that are:

Flat and not curved.
More light grey in color.
As a happy medium between actual and what is seen on screen, an "inbetween" outer shape with "straighter" top and bottom edges, to mimic the visual squarer shape with the HUD.

Glad to see you agree. I also think they're supposed to be flatter, but it's quite difficult to find flat lenses in optic shops, I'm even considering doing them myself, just like you explained a few months ago.
On some shots from the side, you can see that they're quite flat on the top, and that even without the HUD, at least flatter than Jason's.

An other thing that I think is important in this frame is the shape where it connects to the arms, that is smooth on Jason's lenses, this is what reminded me of Clubmasters (btw sorry, I meant Clubmaster and not Wayfarer in my last post).

For the color, it's hard to source the correct one, with the HUD and the amber filter to make the scene more indian...
Also, what do you think about the tint ? I would say around 40%, considering the HUD and the outdoor light ?

If you come up with a pattern, I'd be glad to have it as I believe you and I both want the exact same thing from this frame.

Sorry for those not that interested in the SPX's to bring back an old frame like that.

My lenses from Jason are flat can’t see it in the pics I’ll take more and post tomorrow. I think the flatness make them a bit to cat eye to wear I’ll post tomorrow

Yeah, I think we are on the same page with these lenses!

It may be that Jason's lenses are 100% "off screen" accurate, if he had access to the originals.
That said, personally, I would still look to make them how they appear "on screen", which in the filtered "Indian light effect" + HUD, lMO look light/mid grey with a bit more of a masculine angular shape.

I agree they would be around 40% tint or so, perhaps slightly darker grey than the Prada VPS.

It's probably the worst IM eyewear combination that we have to deal with on here, discontinued frame, custom tints, plus custom lens shape, the last two being just "best guess".
The one plus side (as with the TNG's) is, you can go with any lens width or height to suit you.
When I get the lens shape/pattern to how I want mine, I'll certainly post the file here.
I'm hoping to end up with wearable versions + spare lenses with HUD decals, made from a printable clear adhesive sheet.

In the end, it's all down to personal preference and how you individually perceive the color and shape on screen.

I'm just going to be collecting as many reference screen caps as I can!

I bought some 1.4mm drill bits and a bag of 1000 Silhouette 1.4mm bushes (they are really cheap!) from ebay, so I can fit and re-fit different TNG & SPX lens shapes and sizes over and over, until I'm happy ;)
Once you've done it a few times, it is a very quick and easy procedure, honest!!

They are grey yes
Thanks for getting back about the color!

I picked up these new cheap pair for a few bucks, just for the lenses to practice the shape on.

They aren't really mega "flat" as I want and there might not be enough width, to get the right size lenses from them.

20191228_094948.jpg(stood up against the frames)

The color seems close enough so far. I just need to work on the lens pattern.

A pic of my Silhouette fixings, which is essentially all that is needed - apart from the drill bit & pliers to close the bushes onto the lenses/frames.

So would you say that Jason's lenses were grey in person?
It may be your photo or lighting (or my eyes!), but they do look grey compared to the very slight purple tint on Gotmeth366's.
Thank you in advance.
Jason made me a second pair because my girlfriend liked those lenses did so much. I'll take some pics of both after work today

Here’s a bunch I just took
