For you aspiring builders, Dave nailed it. This is all you need as far as templates go.
Fitting parts together is an entirely different matter. I can't even begin to tell you the various configurations I've come up with to create or convert this saber. I can honestly say that
no two sabers I've ever made are alike!
Dave - very cool on the control box! I can't believe I spotted that, but I had it for so many years, it wasn't that hard with a good pic. You may want to know that Wayne (PropReplicator, RIP) is the one who cast that and gave to me. It's a special piece.
Your Graflex is coming along nicely, but I would love to know what you plan on doing about the difficult parts - particularly the clamp, red button, glass eye, and ears. I have a template for making the ears and clamp, but I've never understood it.
Do you have a shoulder puller? You must, since they're raised. I bet it was tough as hell doing it with stainless.
Brian! Hey man, how are you? Yes indeed, that's the one you remember. (I have a couple of others that need finishing, as well!)
Brinn - very cool to hear! Post up some pics if you can!
Dann - that's indeed a rare commodity. I started a thread 6 years ago to see who else had shoulder pullers besides myself, and I think 3 people replied. It's too bad Jim Honeck isn't around anymore to make more.
I'm plinking around right now with my brand new Dremel. I don't have any new pics to put up yet, but it won't be long.
I am also thinking about building a few complete sabers to sell, if anyone is interested. I also may put together some kits, but first I'll have to order a new Smooth-On kit.
Let the old times roll....... :thumbsup
Here are the templates I have--as always if they need to be taken down or their creator wishes to post them I'll take them down.
