Thanks! Open the .PDO files through Pepakura Designer. Worked for me that way.

As the deadline approaches, I'm still working on finishing, etc but looking forward to the boots and gauntlets. Anyone have suggestions on best practice involving foam and the boots? I'd like to have a full boot, but am concerned about the "wear factor" when walking on the foam. I've heard of people also building out the boot over an existing shoe. (Have a pair of running shoes I'm ready to sacrifice) but then wondering about the articulation on the front of the boot and best way to get that all to work.

Any input as always would be greatly appreciated.

I built my boots over the top of a pair of old running shoes and have had no issues with articulation etc. They dont really flex all that much unless youre running and jumping everywhere ;)

So, did you do a boot over the entire shoe including the bottom or did you leave the bottom open to expose the shoe sole? Got any pics to show?

I did a foam 'shell'. I still walk on the soles of the running shoes. Theres a bunch of pictures in my build thread, just follow the link in my sig and look at pages 1, 3 and 4. Id repost them here, but the forum only allows you to attach them once ;) I lucked out and made the shells exactly the right size to fit over the shoes completely by accident :lol

I also cut off about 1cm of the base of the boots as I thought they looked a bit clunky and, well, boot like, and I wanted a more slimline look.

I also did a foam shell over some old work shoes i had. I slightly modified the design to fit my shoes and to aid in mobility.
I left the sole uncovered and so far the articulation isn't a problem...unless like Dyno said you start running and jumping about, then you will probably just get some cracking on the paint

Took a loot at your boots photos and that will help quite a bit. Great build by the way!
