Building X-Wing 1/24 : Help!!

Does anyone have any info as to what the engine thrusters are from?

Ive seen in different forums and post that its from the Revell Phantom 1/32, but I have that and there doesnt seem to be any kind of removable engine or access panel to show the detail. :confused

You obviously don't have the correct one.

Here's a slightly odd question...

What is the consensus about how sharp the corners/edges of the fuselage should be (where the top surface of the fuse meets the side-walls, etc.), or are on the originals?

The FX toy has very sharp corners.
The CC fuselage has rounded off corners.
The blow-molded Maxi-brute also has fairly rounded corners/edges.
I'm not sure on the Icons.

Can someone who has seen the 1/24 models in person comment?

They raised the price on these to a $1 each. What a rip off. I got them for .20 each last time.

I'm reviving this oldie but goodie thread.

If you want to be REALLY accurate, you'll need 16 per T-65. One for each engine and then 3 each for the laser cannons!

Are you sure about 3 on the cannons? It only looks like two on the photos I've seen. Perhaps some of the reds used two and others three.

Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone have any measurments for the rear fuselage? I'm trying to correct a Hasbro body, and it's ass-end has eaten one too many power cells.

One of the nice things about this forum, and the hobby we share as scratchbuilders and kit detectives, is that anyone from anywhere can meet like-minded individuals via this forum and start friendships born of common interest. I just wish we could all get together for beer somehow!

Thanks to this forum, I've come to know a very sharp guy from Japan who has been following the progress of these studio-scale threads for some time now. We've shared knowledge, reference photos, and ideas and he has become a good friend, even though I only know him by his name! Along the way he has pointed out several important things about the hero X-Wings that I hadn't already noticed myself.

This week, he took some reference pics that I provided and came up with this part find:

On the bottom is a picture of the trailing edge of one of the wings of the hero Red 2 model. Right above that is a picture of the part he found. The part?

A wheel shaft from this kit:

Tamiya 1/35 German Hanomag Sd.Kfz. 251/1 Armored Half-track

I already had this kit so I checked it out. I believe this is a solid find!

My friend asked that he not be identified by name, so I'm going to honor that request. I hope everyone will join me in thanking him for tracking down this part.

Thanks again, man!

here is the pic of the parts

Would anyone be willing to offer molds of the Aurora M8 Munitions Carrier parts needed for the X wing to me for sale or trade? These are really the only parts I need for the X Wing, besides that Sherman part underneath the wing cannons. I have no leads on this, but everything else I have.

Anyone?

If it's Kaoru, count me out. He has quite a temper, and has been banned from almost all of the studio scale boards... be careful. I stay away from that guy.

Post #272. Beaz is apparently friends with a guy who has proven to be quite the malcontent. If this is the case, I'm steering clear, as I want nothing to do with it. That's all. :redface

Post #272 contains a quote from what is actually post #3 from this thread, which is dated December 13, 2001. Yesterday I couldn't figure out why, but it seems I'm being judged a bit harshly for having once praised someone who has apparently fallen out of favor.

This morning, I did some searching at the various forums and found a discussion about this person's recent actions. Having read this, I think I have a better sense of why my past association with the guy might be an issue for some. For the record, I'm not working with this person - haven't even emailed him since last year - and if what folks are saying in that thread is true, then I certainly have no desire to reconnect.

Well, I read it rather differently. Looks to me as if Kaoru succumbed to the temptation to join the Stonecutter schmucks (who, as far as I can tell, for all of their privileged insider connections, have actually figured out jack ****) and that Bob guy welched on some deal with him ("send the CDR as planned") so Kaoru is asking that Bob either come good on his part of the deal or pay Kaoru cash for whatever it was that he provided to Bob. If Bob doesn't do what he promised, Kaoru will (oh, horrors!) let the rest of us maggots see some of the secret Stonecutter pix stash.

I don't know how it turned out. After about half a dozen pages of racist ****, I didn't have the stomach to read any more.

Do any of you have the Aurora M8 Munitions Carrier?

I have one but the wheels are peculiar in mine. Why do you ask?

By the way, did a bit more reading over at the Stonecutter forums, and that place is like a TZ episode where jhyphen's been elected president of the world for life.

This is one of the last 2 X Wing kits I need, and was wondering if someone could send me castings of the parts - or better yet, a mold of them. How are your wheels peculiar?

You know the inner ring that protrudes slightly? In the kit that I have, all of those vary from being pretty much flush to slightly recessed. Not really a big deal for somebody building the kit, but a major bummer for an X-wing obsessive.
