Building the Sandcrawler

Fantastic build!!!

Thanks my friend~!

This is absolutely staggering Eric, you are an extremely talented bloke.

Hi Guy~! I absolutely want to see the finishing your great SS A-Wing:thumbsup

pretty stuff Eric. :)

Hi Dave, thanks for your reply....I heard from my friend that he failed the casting for some sealab parts which was used on ISD baffles because it was so thin...
I will contact another friend who has a talented casting skill in my location.

Sweet as always Eric, when are you starting painting this beauty ?

Julien, I'm currently not sure but my SC is IDed by near 92% or 95%?
If possible, I want to start the painting after 100% IDed...If I have a good luck which is IDing unknow parts then I will start it ASAP.

thanks Eric.

I love the details, absolutely outstanding work! Can't wait to see the finished (painted) baby!

Finally, I decided to scratchbuild for unidentified parts in order to start painting on the Sandcrawler ASAP.
The pics are the latest status and I still need to add some parts thru scratchbuild!!!
Stu, I can't wait arriving your alloy headlight part :)

Please refer to the below link.

Some people mentioned that the alloy part for headlight was used from vintage heatsink.
For over 1 year, I tried to find it and finally, decided to scratchbuilt...

Bascially, I drew the blueprint through my eye-measurement and sent it to Stuart (aka. eagle1) to be made by alloy.

My friend Stu've done a great working...Thank you very much Stu :thumbsup

Finally, I attached it on my SC as pics and additionally scratchbuilt some mystery parts on the backside of the SC.

Thanks Eric.

What a fantastic model !

Wow Eric, this is looking fantastic. What a feast of brilliant detailing. Seeing all this work also makes me marvel at the level of detail they put into the original. And how much of it do we actually see on screen? very little. Especially the top deck. I love how that looks.

I'll re-visit those pics you sent me and have another go at some ID's. They were tricky ones though.

Great job

Nick

You are a true master with styrene and kit parts . I have started mapping and planning for my own studio scale Sandcrawler , I hope mine looks just a faction as great as yours.

Incredible. Just an incredible achievement, Eric.

And props to Stuart for milling those gorgeous headlights.

This project is easily one of my favorite all-time builds here, and it just went up a few notches, IMO.

Thank you for your kind comments :)

Nick,

If I get any change to make the 5F falcon, it will be great project than the current SC project.

---------
James,

I also hope I can help your Project. Cheers~!

---------
Kevin,

Yes. Stuart and his Dad gave a part of history to my SC.

---------
Scott,

:lol If my room is really to be SW museum, my family will leave me...:cry

thanks Eric.

I cant add anymore to what has already been said, this is truly an amazing build Eric & one we wont see again for a long long while. I cant wait to to see this painted.

There are a few builds here that go above and beyond the call and this is definitely one of them. Those headlights are an amazing piece of work and the attention to detail overall is staggering. Between this, the Probe Droid, the 8ft SD and that never ending Death Star build I really do wonder what Mr G. Lucas would say if he saw them.
