Dude! I can see a crocked line in the southern hemisphere - You suck...

Seriously I'm KIDDING. The perspective shot looks amazing.

Beleive me - there are crooked lines I'm sure!

I sweat the details on each line, wondering if they are straight and true, and can nit-pick certain specific lines here and there. But taken as a Gestalt, it all works, and is looking surprisingly similar to the real deal.

Just like on the ral DS.

Can you imagine the inconsistancy that must show up on the real DS? I mean you had 4 or 5 hippies that were probably stoned to the bejesus working on this thing!

Guy 1 - Toke, and pass... "Can you beleive that George guy actually paid us to make a model if a giant ball..."

Guy 2 - receiving pass - toke and pass - "between the 3 of us we must've cost him like two grand..."

Guy 3 - receiving pass -"Who the heck is gonna see this movie anyway, and who'd think a big gray ball was supposed to be the badest weapon in the universe... its soo stupid" - toke, pass to guy 1

Guy one - "well on Friday I'm planning the windows. I already ordered a case of Heineken... Should be a good afternoon... you guys in?

Chourus of "hell Yeahs..."

1975 or 2010...?

2010 or 2009 actually was like this

Brad: So how the hell are we going to paint this?

Rob: Not sure exactly. You wanna see some cool props I have?

Brad: Hell Yeah!

(3 hours later Rob and Brad go back into the garage)

Brad: So how the hell are we going to paint this?

Rob: Not sure exactly. You wanna get some lunch?

Brad: Hell Yeah!

(2 hours later and much discussion about props)

Made a creative decision today...

After visiting Seattle, I'm confident that the "Antarctic Circle" is in fact a silver band. What I'm not entire sure about is if there was a secondary, narrower silver band, closer to the south pole.

I know for at least part of the circumference there was such a secondary band, but am not sure if it was originally incomplete, or if parts of it were worn off over the years.

So...

On my model, this secondary band will be consistent around.

Here are some shots of the original - you can see what I mean, as you can see the secondary (lower) band fade away.

Rob, that's just a thought, but I think the wider strip is not pure silver, but mixed with something darker. I would try with some gun metal paint ? The thinner looks to be pure silver to me that's why it looks to fade away in comparison of the other.

Rob, that is looking simply gorgeous!! You are doing a magnificen job bro. I would love to come back down there and do some windows. Is there a weekend that works for you soon?

Totally. We'll work it out.

Had some unexpected evenst this past week which threw a wrench in things, but next few weekends are pretty much free. Give me a buzz towards the end of this week (Thursday or Friday).
