Building my 8th Doctor Sonic

Creating the 8th Doctor's 'new' style sonic is going to be my latest project. Wish me luck, I'm doing it the hard way :wacko

Here's where I am at the moment ....

I'll be starting on the wooden handle section next
I think the handle should be made as a separate unit. From what I can see the 'grip' section looks slightly thicker compared to the base, so a slip cover that can be glued over the main rod looks an ideal way to go. It will also reduce the risk of damaging the base section while the wooden handle is constructed on its own. the slip cover (yellow section) is just an old hollow metal broom handle, it's a perfect fit over the resin base rod.

Looks great. I'd love to add this version to my collection. I'm a big fan of the Big finish adventures.

If you end up casting these parts, please let me know. I could trade you other sonic stuff for some of these parts.
