BTTF Nike Air Mag Replicas...my new project

Working on getting the sole lights and the 3 dimple LED lights on the side of the sho powered off one 9 volt :cool. The main goal here is to rig the side leds so when you put your foot in the shoe it won't mess with the LED connection which i think I solved. If i can get all the lights minus the nike strap powered by one 9 volt it shouldnt be a problem wearing the shoes lit up.Also I have an idea for the nike strap but i don't want to get ahead of myself I just hope it works out.Below is a pic of the mess I'm in right now lol

Cool Mike. I was thinking about doing this also, but I never could find the correct blue-green lights that match the EL sheet.

Yeah i had the same problem I just ordered 5 mm Turquoise LEDS for the soles the ones in the pic are just test green leds.Let's just hope my idea for the nike strap works out and if it does I think were in business. My goal is to have all the wiring hidden in the fabric and just have the 9 volt exposed long enough to maybe have hidden in your sock while wearing the shoes it seems it's the only possible way.I'm trying to avoid those bulky inverters.More to come.....

Cool Mike. I was thinking about doing this also, but I never could find the correct blue-green lights that match the EL sheet.

Booshman do these inverters have on/off switch?.If these small inverters don't shut off then i don't think these are good options....no?.

Also it might be better off doing just straight LED lights instead of the El sheet for the strap, then we can power everything from one on/off switch including the side lights and soles.

No, a switch would need to be added to the circuit to turn the light on/off.

I have found a really small inverter, that runs off cell batteries. The company that sells them is in Australia though, so shipping is high.

EL Inverters/Drivers

I'm moving to China in October, so I'll probably wait until then and see what I can get there. Should be a lot cheaper.

For the lights in the sole, have you cut some of the yellowed rubber off the side of your shoe? What are you going to do once you have the lights in?

Ok by no means were these shoes easy to do but i finally got my first shoe completed.I didn't take many pics of the building process but once i work on my other shoe I will take some detailed pictures but for the time being here are a few shots and a little video of my wife walking in Markpoons shoes all lit up :love.Oh yeah and as far as the nike logo strap goes just some Nice Glow in the dark Tape to rid the inverter :thumbsup... WORKS GREAT!!!.The soles and the side lights are all wired to one 9 volt that you can keep tucked away in your shoe.Enjoy :cool

Very Short Video in action

Very cool Mike. I am just a little insecure about tearing up the soles. What did you use to glue them back in place?

Also brad you can't be gentle and afraid to tear these shoes up.These shoes are made very well.I absolutely love the elastic cloth material on the shoe.I was able to stretch it and pull it without ripping.I got to say when these shoes are lit up it's a whole new sneaker :cool

Can anyone here wire up some EL sheet for my shoes? The original ones I have had a pretty poor connection and no longer work.

Impressive. Most impressive. I'd like to try these on my Mcflys too. The way i light up my NIKE decals is i just wedge/tuck in LED lights into the shoes behind the straps.:thumbsup
